Dangerous

I remember one day Mommy, Daddy, and I,
Were sitting together on the couch watching the news.
The reporter was talking about how in Costa Rica,
Twelve people were caught in an ocean current.
They were seventeen-year old students from Ohio.
Only two of them were saved,
By lifeguards.
I remember thinking,
Water can't be that dangerous,
But I would soon find out,
It's very dangerous.
