A tornado is a violent rotating column of wind formed by severe thunderStorms. Tornados can reach speeds up to 300 miles per hour. Wall clouds in severe thunderstorms means tornados coming.

Tornados can reach up to 2-6 miles long. More than 6 tornados can form at once. Tornados can happen any time anywhere.

How you stay safe from a tornado is you would pay attention to warnings on TV, watch the skies, there would be large hail, the sky turns green and the wind roars. After that you should find shelter in the bathroom in the bathtub with a mattress over you, in your basement, or in a storm shelter.

Tornados are especially common during the spring and early summer. May and June are the months where tornados most appear.
