C h a p t e r 49

'Can't wait to see you girls either! I'll be at yours at 6 ❤️' I replied leaving out the Danny part.

'Great! And by the way, I told you that we are going to be about 10 ish tonight for the dinner but a few couldn't make it because of family plans so it's just the gang, you and Danny 😊' Well now I had to tell her...I took a deep breath preparing for this conversation again before I sent her a reply.

'Well Danny's not coming so it's just the gang back together again 🎉' Seconds after I sent the text Sophie called me. I nervously picked up the phone and cleared my voice.

'Hey.' I said.

'Why isn't Danny coming after all?' Sophie asked. I sighed on the other end as I noticed I got a bit emotional thinking of the fact that I didn't have him anymore.

'We broke up.'

'Wait what?! When?! How?!' Sophie asked in shock.

'About 2 weeks ago. I was meant to tell you girls, but he wasn't mentioned in any of our conversations anyways so I felt weird about bringing it up so I just figured I'd say something if people asked.'

'2 weeks ago?! What happened? Are you okay?'

'Yeah I'm still alive. I'm just tired and in pain and I don't wanna do anything.'

'What happened?' She asked.

'Well a lot actually. At first we weren't that good as he had just released the album and wasn't home. Then he got home and we talked about it and decided to keep going for now but end it if it got like that again. And he left...' I said as I burst into tears again not able to keep it in. I tried as hard as I could, but I had go let it all out. All of this was still fresh in my mind and it felt like yesterday still. I knew I needed time, but I didn't want all this pain either. I wanted to move on and be okay again.

'And then it was good for a few weeks before one day it suddenly snapped and he pulled away. He didn't say why and we had a big fight which nearly ended our relationship, but me being stupid I told him I still loved him even after that and we said we would talk when he got back. Then he got back for that gig in Dublin and I was supposed to be there but I just couldn't face him just yet so I told the lads I couldn't come. I went out with Susana and Jules instead and after dinner we decided to go to a bar. That's when I saw Danny. With another woman.' I chocked out. I could barely breathe at the end of the sentence and I burst into tears and cried hard for a few minutes before I was able to speak again. 

'That's horrible Laurs. I'm so, so sorry! I never knew it was like this. You looked so happy together.'

'We were. It all just changed when he left in September. These past weeks I've been so unhappy and he just didn't care saying he had a lot on his mind too, which he did, but still. He could have been honest from the beginning.'

'Yeah he could, but I'm sure he had his reasons. I'm not defending him, just pointing it out. And I'm so shocked by all if this, oh my god.' Sophie said. It was quiet for a bit before she spoke up again. 'You were so great together. I totally ship you two. Ugh I don't like this, but I understand the whole thing.'

'Thank you. I just feel that I've given him enough chances to fix it, but he didn't and I'm tired of trying if I'm the only one willing to fix it.'

'I get it Laurs, just try to forget him. I know it's easier said than done cause I know that you love him a lot, more than I've heard anyone love someone, but you can't bury yourself in this pain. I won't let you.'
