chapter 1. This is Berk

/ Jacks pov /

17 year later...

This is Berk, I lived here my whole life and this heaping pile of rocks has one or two surprises. Most people have traditions like sword fighting or boat racing we berkeans do a little something we call... DRAGON RACING!  "WHHOOOO!!!" Fishlegs cheered as he flow by with a sheep in his dragons arms ad giving it to Ruffnut. "Here you go beautiful." He said flying next to her. "Yes legs go!" She cheered and dropped the sheep into the net. "What are you doing Fishleg's their going to win now? "Astride asked. "She's our princess what ever she want's she get's." Snotloud said flying up to us. "Ruffnut, didn't she try to bury you alive? I asked confused. "Only for a few hours!" He said flying away, I sighed and rolled my eye's. A horn then blow and I looked at the nets. Me and Astride were tied and with the black sheep one of us could beat the twins. "Hey Jack do you want to make this a bet?" Astride asked looking at me with a smile. "You know I do! ok if I win... OH, you have to go on a date with Goostoff." I smiled as she puked a little in her mouth "O-ok but if I win.... if you and Hiccup ever get married you have to wear a dress!" My eyes widened "Oh hell no!" "Well you better win then." She laughed flying off.

I looked down at my snow wrath Tundra and patted her head "Come on girl lets show her not to mess with ice elements!" I smiled and we flow off looking for the black sheep when I found the twins fighting over it. "Typical..."  I stood up on Tundra's back pulling out my staff 'GO GET EM JACK!" I heard Stoick yell from the side lines. I used the wind to help me do a flip over the twins grabbing the sheep with the hooked end of my staff and landed back on Tundra's back with a laugh. "Jack!?" Ruffnut gasped and Tuffnut moaned in annoyance. "Well played, that my future son-in-law!" Stoick cheered as I flow under the nets dogging Fishleg's and Snotloud and throwing the sheep into y net. "That 15 Jack wins the game!" Everyone burst out into cheers as I flow off. "Have fun on your date Astride!"

/ Hiccups pov /

"What should we name it bud?" I asked my dragon Toothless as he itched his armpit. "Itchy armpit it is." I said registering the new island on my map. "So you think we might find a new dragon in those woods, maybe another night fury? Who knows we might finally track down Jacks family....wouldn't that be something?"  I sighed and looked behind me as I heard  dragon roar behind me. Tundra landed and my blue eyed lover jumped of her pulling down his hood. "Nice of you to finally join us m'darling. What have you been doing?" I asked. "Oh winning races what else, and what have YOU been doing?" He asked petting Toothless before sitting next to me. 'What do you think?" I asked pointing at my map. 'Well... picking a ridicules name for an island isn't new." He laughed as I pushed him lightly. "So your father missed you at the race." I sighed annoyed and rolled my eyes. "Oh, I know that face what happened?"

"Oh you should have been awake to see this." I said standing up. ""It's a beautiful morning, the sun is shining I got out of bed trying not to wake you. I walked down for breakfast and was hit with, Son we need to talk~"  " Not now dad I have a big day of goofing off to do." Jack said in a whinny voice. "Fist of all I don't sound like that and second w-what is that thing your doing with my shoulders?" I asked and he stated to move his shoulders around.  "Very funny Jack." I said and continued my story. "Your the pride of Berk son and I couldn't be prouder~"  "Thanks dad I'm pretty impressed with my self too!" Jack smiled flapping his hands around. "When in my life have I done that with my hands?" "You did just now!" He laughed and started to shack around. I gripped his hand in mine "Hold still this is serious." I smiled and he nodded. I shook my head and kissed his nose before standing up again. "Your the pride of Berk so I desisted~" "TO MAKE YOU CHIEF! Hiccup that's amazing!" He finished and stood up giving me a hug.

"What did you say?" He asked now holding my hands. "Nothing I was gone before he turned around." I said simply and he nodded. "I can see why, it's a big responsibility." "And it's not me Jack planning and running the village that's HIS thing." Jack cupped mu cheeks. "Hiccup your not seeing this right, chief it's a honor!" "I know it's just... I'm not my father and I never meet my mother so... what dose that make me?" I asked sitting down. 'Jack shook his head with a sigh and sat down. "Hiccup you forgot I never meet either of my parents and I don't know why I have these powers, but I can tell you this." He placed his hand over my heart. '"What your looking for isn't out there it's in here." He tuned my face to him "You have to believe in me." I nodded and was about to say something when I saw smoke in the corner of my eye and looked a head. "What is that?" Jack asked worried. 'I don't know but let's go find out." I said and we got on our dragons flying off.
