I growled at him and lunged for the door, needing to get to Rose. Instantly, a brown wolf and a blonde wolf were on me, attempting to hold me back. When that didn't work, Lily and my mother shifted into slick white wolves and helped Gage and Piper. The four of them barely held me down as my father wrapped my paws, neck, and muzzle with silver chains. His eyes held a tinge of guilt for chaining his alpha and son, but he knew that he was doing the right thing. He probably thought he was protecting Rose, but he wasn't. I was Rose's protection. They couldn't protect my mate from me. I wasn't a danger.

Adrian, calm down. Rose will wake up if you don't calm down right now. My dad was looking me straight in the eye. You can't claim her—she's not yours yet.

Not mine? I snarled. She is mine and only mine. She belongs with me. She needs to see that.

Right now, she's Diesel's.

She was never his to begin with.

But she's his now. My dad was doing a great job at pissing me off even more.

Beau, you're making him angrier, my mom warned, worried for her mate's safety.

Fine, you talk to him. You guys can let go now—he's chained. The four of them got off me and left the room to shift back and find something to wear. My mom came back a few minutes later and knelt down next to my dad, looking me in the eye.

"Adrian, I heard you and Lily talking earlier and she was right. You have to go after Rose. It's not very smart to go after her while she's with Diesel, but the two of you are so stubborn that you'll end up waiting too long and claiming her at the worst time." I didn't miss the smirk my dad directed toward my mom. The same smirk I often found spread across my face.

Worst time? I raised my eyebrows.

"What if the two of you snapped at school? You'd be too obsessed with claiming her, you wouldn't care that you were in the public eye. Or what if you snapped while she was with Diesel?"

I growled at the mention of her boyfriend.

"Exactly," my mom said, glad she finally made her point.

I huffed. Can you grab me a pair of pants or something? I'm going to shift back.

My dad tossed me a pair of jeans that were lying next to his feet—he probably knew he'd need them when I shifted back. I hissed quietly as they released the silver chains that burned my skin, but was thankful that my father chained me. Now that I wasn't seeing red, I realized that running into the guest room and claiming Rose in wolf form, with Diesel in the room, wasn't the best idea. They both turned as I shifted and pulled on the jeans.

I flopped down on the bed, exhausted. The chains sucked the energy out of me, and it was challenging to hold off four mature werewolves. My adrenaline rush gave me strength while I was in wolf form, but it left me exhausted.

"Don't worry sweetheart." My mom brushed my hair off my forehead and kissed the top of my nose. "Everything will work out soon enough. You should tell Diesel she's your mate."

"He'd fucking murder me," I muttered.

"Language." She sighed. "It doesn't matter. He wouldn't be with her if he knew she was your mate."

"It doesn't matter that he'd kill me?" I feigned hurt. "Wow, thanks Mom."

She grinned and swatted my shoulder. "Just do what you think is right, Honey."

My parents left the room and I groaned, hearing my stomach rumble.
