"So what do I have to do there exactly?" Except eating and drinking, I have no idea what else I can do when I'm at that party.
"Socialize, leave a good impression to everyone you meet, and stay out of trouble." Dad started raising his fingers to count the things that I have to do one by one.
"I don't think I can do any of those Dad..."
"Ugh... you're making my head hurt. Well, at least, try to stay away from trouble."
"I'll try my best..." I sighed.
"Rei, you can leave me now. Go accompany Miharu and make sure she's ready." I heard father spoke out and Miss Rei just stood up and escorted me out of the room.
I told Miss Rei that I can go as I am but she insisted *threatened* that I wear the dress that Dad bought me and make an effort on how I look. Rei called the makeup artist and hair stylist. I had a lot of fun teasing both of them, saying that I'm not satisfied with their work. After some time, I gave them my approval. It's almost five in the afternoon, and I still have to travel to the venue.
My chestnut hair was pulled up in a loose side ponytail, held together by silver and blue ribbons and roses. The gown that I was wearing was deep blue, just like the night sky. Its cloth, flows perfectly on me. My only complain about this dress is its plunging neckline, and it's backless! I thought that having a protective and conservative father will give me the pleasure of wearing decent and safe dresses, I guess I'm wrong."
"The party's private right?" I asked Rei while we walk down the stairs.
"Yes. No press, if that's what worries you. It is also exclusively invitation only." Miss Rei affirmed me.
"That's good to know, I won't have to worry about random rumors popping out of nowhere." I sighed as we reach the last step of the stairs.
"Your coat my Lady." David handed me a long white coat before I reached the front door.
"Congratulations on your appointment as head butler David. I'm glad that the house and family are in capable hands." I took the coat from David's hand and put it on.
"Thank you for your compliment, my Lady. I'll try my best to satisfy your expectations."
"No need to push yourself, David. You're practically one of the family." I waved goodbye and place myself in the car.
After making sure that I was sitting comfortably and was wearing the seat belt, Richardson, our driver stepped on the gas pedal.
I arrived at the venue just in time. I took in a deep breath and stepped out of the car. I kept on repeating the words, '... for Dad, for Dad...' inside my head.
I turned back around and tried opening the car door, "Richardson, drive me back home..."
"No can do Miss, I was specifically ordered to keep you here until the event is over..." he said and I heard a click signaling the locking of the car door.
"*sigh* Fine... wish me luck, Richardson..." I looked at the building that I was going to enter. It was intimidating.
"May all the good fates be on your side..." I heard Richardson whisper from behind me before I start climbing the stairs.
I took a deep breath, straightened my back, and put on my game face. The kind of face that will surely say, 'Don't talk to me'. I was giggling evilly to myself as I walk up the entrance stairs of the Silver Edge Hotel, one of the most prestigious venue where most high-classed events are held.
The doorman took my coat and led me to where the other guests are. After making my way through the crowd of people, I placed myself at the corner of the room, grabbed a seat for myself and planned to stay there for the rest of the night.
