PEETA'S POV

Its been 2 months since I planted the Primroses and Katniss came outside. We've been seeing each other alot but sometimes by accident. For example once she went outside her door and triped over Buttercup and I ran over to help her up. At the time I was so worried and that no matter how hard I pressed my feet against the floor, I would never be fast enough to reach her before she was hurt. After she reassured me she was okay, I felt fine.

But most of the time we hang out, we go to the meadow, the hob and sometimes the graveyard where Prim and my families tomb lies. Its sad when we do that, but we do it together and It take the burden off, knowing there is someone there for you. Thats how I feel, but I dont know about her.

Iv'e been trying to get my families bakery up and running again, but I cant get a hold of the Capitol for the lease.

"Peeta ?, PEETA??" Haymitch shouts bringing me back to reality.

"Um, yeah, what?" "Ugh, Katniss told me to tell you that do you want to come over for dinner tonight?, I honestly dont see why she cant do it herself, but she asked me"

"Yes, tell her I would love to come over"

"great" Haymitch said in a really snarky tone "she said go around about 7pm, ok?"

"Yep, thats fine" And with that he left.

Im literally jumping for joy about seeing her. Then it hit me, is this a date? that thought sat on my mind for the whole day, then when 6.30pm came. I got ready then went over to Katniss's. I knocked on the door and she appeared in a orange dress. "Wow" I said not realizing I said it out loud. She blushed.

I walked in and said "You look, beautiful, Katniss you really do" she blushed again

"You dont scrub to bad yourself" I blushed. "Come over to the table, I made lamb stew" I walked over and pulled out her chair for her to sit on and then pushed it in "Ohh, what a gentleman" She said in an Effie accent. We both laughed.

We started eating and talking about small talk and random stuff. Then I said something thats been on my mind for ages "Katniss Is this din-" I Started but was interrupted by Katniss saying "I know what your going to say, and to me this is a date, or at least I want it to be" she tells me and I cant believe she said it. She carried on talking "Peeta, I just want us to get back to the way we were, or the way we should have been. I mean where you like me and I.... um.... like you" She says blushing again looking down at her lap.

" Me too"I say honestly. I have been waiting for this moment since I was five years old to say "Well then ill just say it, Miss Katniss Everdeen will you been my girlfriend???" "Yes, of course I will Mr Peeta Mellark"she says mimicking me. I laugh.

We continue eating and she says"Honestly Peeta, Is this food any good, Is it nice?"I truthfully dont like it that much, but I put on a face meaning I love it. but I dont want to lie to her. "It's not horrible"

"Good, I knew you were the sweet boy I knew before and Its okay because I know I suck at cooking"

"You dont suck"

"Im nothing compared to you" I dont say anything. We finished our dinner, I wash up the plates while she wipes up. Then we go over to the sofa and sit down. Katniss lies her head on my chest and I Wrap me arms around her. I know she like it when I wrap her in my arms.

After a while we fall asleep.

A FEW HOURS LATER ...

I wake up and Katniss Is still asleep, and I get up and I go over to the kitchen and get a drink. I left Katniss for a matter of minutes and I hear he shout my name from the living room. I quickly run In, she sees me and hugs me. "Damn you Peeta, I woke up and you went there. I-I Th-"

I quickly calm her "Shh, Katniss im hear, everything is alright, I was only in the kitchen" At this moment I have my arms wrapped around her and shes resting her head on my chest. Then It hit me she said the same words in the first arena 'Damn you Peeta'. I cant believe I remember after all this time.

My focus is then shifted when she touched my lips with hers. I get lost In her passion. Then It intensifies when she sticks her tongue in my mouth asking for entrance. I accept. Then I pick her up Bridal style and we get lost in each other and the rest of the night was a blur.

 THE NEXT MORNING

I wake up with Katniss next to me stirring in her bed. What the hell happened last night? She wakes up looks at me and smiles then it hits her, her eyes grow wide like mine did. Pupils dilating.

But she just laughs it off and says whilst still laughing "What did we do last night?"

"I have know idea" I say shrugging my shoulders, also laughing. We lay in bed for a while, with Katniss's head resting on my chest and me hugging her. I kiss the top of her head ever 6 minutes or so. She smiles every time I do.

Eventully We get up. When I realize I have no clothes apart from the ones I wore last night, which was a suit. At the moment Im only wearing boxers. Katniss looks at me, giggles a bit, shuffles around in there a bit then comes out with jogging bottoms. There mine, why does she have them? 

"Before you ask, I have them because you stayed at mine before the Quell and you were in the same situation you re in now and you suggested that I keep a pair of trousers here If it happens again." She pauses, looks at me up and down. I feel a bit uncomfortable and she says "And it looks like it did happen again." Then she giggles.

She chucks me the trackies and I swiftly put them on and go downstairs for breakfast. I bake some cheese buns - because I know their her favourite - and we eat.

Then we retreat to the sofa again and were in the same position we were in last night when we fell asleep here. Then a mocking jay perches itself on the window and chirp's away, we both stay quiet and stare at it, Then it flew away. The morning seemed to be perfect when the phone rang which spoiled the silence and peace.

"Hello?"

"Hel-(Burp) Ugh hello" I knew who it was, Haymitch. Lately hes been trying to not drink, but hes obviously failing. He's drunk, very drunk.

"Hi Haymitch, what do you want?"  "The Capitol want you to... umm (Burp again) go and sign some papers, for your bakery,,,, Your train leaves today at 12 noon."

"Oh, ok thanks Haymitch"  "Your welcome mateee" Yep he's drunk. Never in a million years would he call me mate sober.

"Bye"  "Byeeeeeeeeee..........."I put the phone down. I tell Katniss and shes sad and wants to come with me but I persuade her to stay. I said i'll be back in 2 days and even though she wants to come, she agrees to stay.

I go pack my bags and get on the train and Katniss waves goodbye. I dont want to leave, i'll miss her too much. But I do, I have to if I want my bakery. I find my room and put my bags down. Then I go for a walk and find the food carriage. I eat a bit and find im tired and walk back to my room fall on the bed and sleep.

TOMORROW MORNING ...

KATNISS'S POV

I wake up and feel empty. I need my Peeta to be next to me when I wake up. To make the day beter and brighter. Without him I dont feel whole. Then I think, he will be back soon and soon I will be whole and he wont leave again. He'll be by my side and i'll be by his and we will live on with the rest of our lives.
