[Good Morning. Welcome to Special ED School!]
[Please place your Identification Card on the scanner.]
He placed his Identification card on top of the scanner as per instruction.
[Erol Frousche Access Granted.]
The opaque door slowly became transparent.
Erol went through it as if the door wasn't there. He hang his hover board on the hanger located in the deposit area next to the door where he got in. Immediately, under the hanger, the floor opened up pulling down Erol's board.
Erol still amazed everyday and still can't get used to all of the school's technology, he continue forward and let out a wry laugh.
This is only but a fragment of Teskia's technology. Every gadgets and machines in Special ED are made only for those who are gifted with mana to help hone each of their abilities and skills. Other than exceptional facilities, the school also provides high level of instruction from high tier Elementalists who ranked A and above.
Though Special ED is made for the victims of the past horrors, the school also accepts people who are proven to have affinity with mana. Providing them with proper education and all the necessities they need, free of any financial requirements.
Erol saw only a few of the students outside the hallways which means most classes are already starting. His classroom is on the second floor so Erol hastily went past the corridor, then up the stairs to the right.
[Room 2-C]
He slowly opened the steel-like sliding door and took a peek before stepping inside. His gaze met his teachers' but he quickly broke it and slightly bowed greeting his teacher. A tall, short-haired man maybe on his late 20s, quite good-looking, with dark blue eyes, and a seemingly lean build, looking with his right eyebrow rose into the kid who just came in.
"G-Good Morning Professor Keil...", Erol said with a not so audible voice, dejected, expecting another mouthful of words of wisdom...
Aside from his professor's gaze, he also felt the stares of his classmates. Some students were whispering, giggling, but he hastily went to his seat right beside the window paying no attention to them.
"Again Erol?", his professor sighed with annoyance.
Erol lowered his head hiding his face even more. One of the many things he can't get used to in this school is the scolding of his professor every time he came in late.
"You do know that this will affect your performance even more considering that you have slightly below average rating since the start of the semester, don't you?"
Erol struck by the fact that he's among the students who are below average rating in his class, he can't do anything but nod to what his professor says. But what made him less than average is that, he sucks in practical classes. He does excel in academic subjects but in terms of mana aptitude, he's weak. His mana capacity is lower than the average students his age and even though he put into practice everything he learned in class his ability cannot keep up.
This is also one of the reasons why they treat him often as a social outcast.
Professor Keil sighed once again throwing another tired look to Erol and once again go on with his lesson about Mana Enhancement.
...
Two hours went by and the first subject ended which signals for a break.
Some boys were rushing outside to the cafeteria, girls chattering, sharing about the snacks they brought. Erol on the other hand, remained inside the classroom gazing outside the window.
sigh
Erol feeling worn out, watched some students practicing their skills on the field. It wasn't that far from where Erol is.
There on the center of the field was a girl maybe a year older than him stood with flair. Silky hazel brown hair, dark blue eyes, with perfect slender body, and labeled as the school's Princess, Shere Everhart dominated the field with her strong aura. The majority of the students are cheering for the princess and some were jeering to her unfortunate adversary.
The screams reverberated all over the field.
Everhart's opponent overwhelmed by her presence, thrown a flame burst without thinking. The skill was blindly aimed at her feet. Everhart casted a barrier around her cancelling her opponent's skill like it was kids play. Annoyed by the ineffectiveness of his skill, he hurled her with a barrage of fireballs and flame bursts. Everhart showed no expression.
With just a wave of her right hand, a water ball quickly formed in front of her. She willed the water ball forward consuming everything her opponent thrown at her. Every fireball vanished leaving only a trace of mist.
But the water ball didn't stopped advancing. The boy realized what is coming for him, he tried to flee. Unfortunately, the water ball caught up to him easily. The ball of water enveloped his body, drowning him. The boy squirmed, desperately grasping for air but before he ran out of air, the princess dispelled the water ball releasing the pitiful boy signaling her victory.
Fatal attacks are prohibited inside the campus especially in every student duels. Though earlier the boy launched dangerous fire attacks but it was because the princess told him to go all out. Everhart, of course, was confident that she can take all of his attacks. She was just trying to gauge out her opponent's skills. The reason is that she was looking for anyone on her year that can be deemed worthy as an opponent. But unluckily, she still has yet to find anyone.
The duels persisted, the same occurrence every day. Erol, still on his seat, fixated his eyes on each of Everhart's duels.
