When the Bell rang for lunch, I found the girl to find out what she was like. I tapped her on the shoulder as she looked my way. "Hi." I breathed. "I'm Johnathon. But my friends call me Johnny. Y-you can call me that to i-if you want."
She grinned and put out her hand for a handshake. "Sure, I'm Casey." She said. We shook hands and we kept on staring at each other for a while. Until Alex came and took me away. "Come on were gonna be late for the bus."
As I walked with Alex, I couldn't help but look back at Casey over and over until she was out of sight. I felt funny. Every time I looked at her, a wave of happiness spread through me. I felt... Like I was in love. Love at first sight is what they call it. And I've never believed that kind of thing until today.
The next day when I was walking to the school from my bus lane, I felt someone touch my shoulder from behind. I looked behind me and found Casey. "Hey Casey! How you coin' today?" I asked her. Her usual happy face turned into a frowned face. "Ugh horrible!" Casey exclaimed.
"How come?" I asked.
"Well for one thing, I didn't get a good night's sleep so I'm exhausted, then I spilled hot tea all over my brand new outfit, then my mom grounded me, then my cat scratched my face and it wouldn't stop bleeding," She pointed to a big band-aid on her face. "And last but not least, It's only my second day of school and I've already forgotten homework at home."
I was surprised at how much could go wrong in a girls life! I only thought she was going to state the band-aid on her face. I nodded my head and put my hand on her back to comfort her. We kept on walking to the school.
