From walking home and talking loads
To seeing shows in evening clothes with you
From nervous touch and getting drunk
To staying up and waking up with you
They sat together on the roof, staring up at the stars together. There was no way either of them would forget this. And although they had just met a week ago, this was the beginning of something beautiful.
"I love you," he whispered, barely audible in the silent night.
"I love you too," the other replied. "I'll never forget this."
He leaned in slowly, his blue eyes meeting the other boy's green ones. Their lips moved together slowly as the green eyed boy tangled their fingers together, feeling sparks with every touch as he fell deeper and deeper in love.
But now we're sleeping at the edge, holding something we don't need
All this delusion in our heads is gonna bring us to our knees
The green eyed boy sat on the couch next to his boyfriend. Not with, next to. They barely talked. It seemed like just a week ago they were madly in love. He wondered where it all went wrong.
They had just slowly drifted apart, but the green eyed boy was still madly in love. He still believed the boy with the blue eyes and the dark brown hair was his Prince Charming, and he never intended on forgetting that. But he never felt that spark anymore. That spark from the night on the roof of their apartment building, staring at the stars, wishing it would never end.
He ran his fingers through his jet black hair, trying to think of what to say. The other boy was on his phone, no surprise there. He looked up and smiled slightly, but with cold eyes. The same smile that always made his heart flutter was just a reminder of what he was trying so desperately to save.
So come on let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me
Everything's that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me
The blue eyed boy stared at his boyfriend, wondering what went wrong. He hated himself for pushing him away. He hated the fact that he didn't show his love. He hated the fact that staying in love was this hard. He tried so hard to feel the spark again. He tried so hard not to end it. He wanted so desperately to feel the same way he did that night on the roof. But he just couldn't.
The blue eyed boy couldn't stand feeling this way. He couldn't let go. He just cared too much. But his green eyes still had the spark that he just didn't have anymore. All he wanted was to feel that spark again.
From throwing clothes across the floor
To teeth and claws and slamming doors at you
If this is all we're living for
Why are we doing it, doing it, doing it anymore
"WHY WERE YOU WITH HIM?" the green eyed boy screamed.
"HE'S JUST A FRIEND I SWEAR!" the blue eye boy replied.
"FRIENDS DON'T KISS EACH OTHER LIKE THAT! OR AT ALL FOR THAT MATTER!" he replied, his voice breaking.
"HE KISSED ME, I PROMISE YOU IT MEANT NOTHING!" his boyfriend replied.
"You know what, I'm leaving. Don't call me," the green eyed boy said, slamming the door behind him as he ran out onto the roof, sitting down in that same spot from all those months ago, sobbing.
I used to recognize myself
It's funny how reflections change
When we're becoming something else
I think it's time to walk away
The blue eyed boy slid down against the door, setting his head in his hands. He couldn't believe himself. He just let the only person he cared about run out the door. He crumbled and sobbed uncontrollably. He didn't know what to do. His beautiful, green eyed boyfriend just ran out the door. All because he needed to feel a spark again. Because he thought that when he touched hands with that blonde haired boy he thought the spark was real and that this is what love was supposed to feel like. But it was a lie, and the person he really cared about just left.
