On the ride home, Carrie was silent. Ryder wordlessly dropped her off at home, parking her car in the lot. "I'll walk home, alright?" He stated quietly. "Um, yeah." She said softly. "I'll see you around, alright?" He spoke as he walked off. She nodded, walking into her apartment building. When she reached her apartment, she crashed in bed. She had been hiding how tired she was exactly. Within moments she was fast asleep, the faintest of snores escaping her red painted lips.

When she woke up, the sun was setting on her face. She winced as she rubbed her eyes, groaning and sitting up. Stretching, she flattened her wrinkled shirt. "I feel like a drink." She murmured to nobody in particular as she examined her disheveled appearance in her bedroom mirror. Checking her clock, she noted it was 6 pm. She blinked slowly, preparing to drive to the bar she frequented. Locking her door and hopping down the stairs. She got into her car and began to drive.

When she reached the bar, a gentle throbbing in her temple had began. She scowled as she walked in sitting at a bar stool next to a well- tanned man, who was furiously scribbling in a notebook. At her arrival, he started. "Miss Washington! May I buy you a drink?" He asked with a wide grin. She turned to him with the quietest of groans. "Are you that journalist that took a picture of me back at the scene?" She asked, her large grey eyes narrowing in suspicion. "Yes ma'am!" He smiled. "Who are you, where did you come from, and why would you buy me a drink?" She asked warily, her hand drifting to her holster where her gun comfortably rested. "Calm, Detective. The name's Jordan Hodges. I came from Cleveland, Ohio and I would buy you a drink out of politeness."

She raised her hand and waved dismissively. "Fine, go ahead. " Jordan grinned. "What would you like?" "A whiskey." She grumbled in reply. He ordered it as Carrie studied him with a intent glare. "Stop trying to analyze me, detective. I'm a normal guy, I swear!" He chuckled. "You smile too much." She said as her drink came, coolly taking a sip out of it.

"Yeah, whatever. What even brings you to this little bar?" Jordan asked, resting his head in his hand. "It's quiet." She said, giving him a pointed glare. "hmph, there's no need to be rude.." He scoffed, taking a sip of his drink. Carrie simply shrugged. The pair continued to talk for a while, Carrie slowly getting even more drunk. The last thing she remembered from that night was being in a car that wasn't hers, watching the bar grow out of view.
