"C'mon Mae!!" My dad yells. I run out the door, carrying my bag. "I'm ready." I hop in the car, while my dad puts my things in the back. I can't believe I'm doing this!! "Mae, we have to get moving if we are gonna make it to the hotel in time," my dad says. We got tickets to the show in Hershey, since it is the closest. I hop in the car, and he starts it. "Wait!!" My mom yells. My dad rolls down his window. "Make sure she's safe, don't lose her." "I promise, I will watch her like a hawk." My dad is a nice guy, hopefully he doesn't start yelling at my mom. "Ok... well, I love you two, have a good time." And with a small smile, she walks away. My dad pulled out of the drive. I put my headphones in and we start down the street. "Hey, how about we talk for a little," my dad says. I nod and take my headphones out. "So..."I say awkwardly. "I wanted to ask you something important," my dad says, "are you happy living with me and your mom?" I'm kinda shocked, I mean, I always thought this would start with them divorcing. "Of course, I couldn't ask for better parents. Why?" My dad sighs. "Because your mom and I think that it's better for you to go live with someone else." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Are you n-not happy that I-I'm here..." I state shaking, trying to hold back my tears. "Please don't cry...we love you, it's just...."He took a breath, "we just think it's best if you don't live with us." "What about my school?! And my friends!?" Now I was yelling, how could they do this!!! Just abandon me!! "You are going to live with one of our friends for a while in Australia..." my dad trails off. "What!! So not only a new school and new people, but a while new continent!!" I start crying, I can't handle this. I'm losing everyone in my life. "Honey..." my dad says soothingly towards me. He lays his hand on my arm, and I just pull it away. This is officially the worst day of my life.
