"TO THE BAT MOBILE!" I exclaimed, thrusting my hand out to point at my car, an exact replica of the '67 Chevy Impala from the TV show, Supernatural. Ella rolled her eyes at me. "If you continue this all year, I'm telling everyone that we're not related and that you're an alien life form that appeared on our doorstep when I was five." she said. "Well, you could do that. I wouldn't mind, I sometimes think of myself that way too." I said with a shrug.

Rolling her eyes again, she turned to our mother and kissed her cheek. "Bye momma." she said, sounding uncharacteristically child-like for a moment. My mom and I shared a look over her head. Something wasn't right with Ella. And I would find out what was wrong. "I'll find out." I mouthed to Mom. She nodded and looked over to Jamie, who was standing by his car. "You take care of my Daniella, promise me?" she said. When she was pregnant with us, she only expected only one girl, whose named would've been Daniella. Instead she got the wonderful package deal that was my sister and I, so she broke the name in two. Despite the fact Ella is older, she still gave me the first part. "Of course, I'll take care of them, I always do." Jamie said in all seriousness. Then he cracked a grin. "Don't worry, I'll protect Ella from all the horny jocks that'll try to cop a feel." he said easily. I frowned at that. "What about me?" I whined, sounding like a four year old. "Eh, you know how to kick guys in the balls, you're pretty much safe. I speak from personal experience." he said, making a face.

"Go to school now." Mom said, tapping her foot impatiently. She shooed us with her hands. "Go on, you'll be late." she continued. I pouted, but still went over to my car and opened the door. I slid in and opened the locks on the doors so Ella could come in. I started the engine. "Bye." I yelled through the window. At the corner of my eye I saw Jamie's car pull out and leave. Mom waved to us and Ella waved back. I reached over and slipped the Asking Alexandria album, From Death to Destiny, into the CD player under the car radio and hit play. Ella reached over and skipped tracks until she reached Break Down The Walls, her favorite song by the band. I looked at her in concern. "You okay? Was there a leprechaun in your closet to make you feel sad? 'Cause if there was, I can kick his little ass for you." I said. Ella glared at me and said, "Shut up and drive, would you?" I was filled with hurt, but I nodded anyway. I pulled out of the driveway and drove to school.

When we reached school, Jamie was waiting for me with our best friend, Rory, standing next to him. Shoulder to shoulder, they were almost as tall as the other, but that was where the physical similarities ended. Where Jamie was basically a blond and tan muscular dude, Rory was all lanky with the whole vampire thing going for him. Jamie was the sun and Rory was the darkness of night. But, their minds were somehow linked.
Ella got out of the car and slammed the door. She stalked over to the school's entrance after flipping her long black ponytail at us. I sighed and got out of the car and walked over to my chicken nuggets, better known as Jamie and Rory. Rory's large grey eyes regarded me mournfully as they usually do. James's blue eyes sparkled with their custom mischief. "Hey RaRa." I grinned at Rory, knowing he hated the nickname. As expected he glared at me. "Hello DANNY." he said. "So how was two months in your cave?" I asked him as the three of us walked over to the entrance of our special little Hell. He sighed, "It was worse than school." I frowned.
"How so?" I asked. "Because none of you two idiots were there to make it fun." Rory said. Jamie gave him his dimpled grin and said, "We missed you too, Count Dracula." Rory glared at him. "Remind me again, why are we friends with that mentally disturbed person?" he asked innocently. "We picked him up off the streets, remember? He was wearing that walrus costume with a top hat and a monocle." I said, shrugging.
"Haha, you two are a regular riot." Jamie said, rolling his eyes at us. What was it with people and rolling their eyes at me? Maybe they want an award for best eye roll. If so, then Ella won that already.
We walked through the open doors, and walked through the sea of freshmen that came early in order to make an impression on the teachers. Like that was going to work. I spotted my sister against the wall making out with the school biggest jock, Andrew Cross. Seriously? At 7:45 in the morning? When I passed them, I whispered, "Keep it in your pants, lover boy, or I'll cut it off." He pulled himself away from my sister and looked around wildly. I could feel Ella's glare on my retreating back. She had heard of course. Oh well..
Beside me, Rory snickered and Jamie made a choking noise. Rory high-fived me and said, "Dude! That was awesome!" I grinned. I reached my first class and said, "Well boys, until second period." Rory nodded and kissed the top of my head, our parting ritual. Jamie smirked, "Try not to miss me too much, Dan Dan." I grinned and started singing My Heart Will Go On. Rory and Jamie had a simultaneous eye roll then turned to leave.

I walked into the room and almost instantly collided with someone. The person turned around to apologize and I froze. The boy I crashed into had the strangest eye color, yet it was the most beautiful I had seen. His eyes were bright violet, framed by thick dark lashes. "Uhhm.. sorry.." the boy stuttered out in his deep voice. I nodded and said, "It's fine, I wasn't looking to see where I was going." He nodded jerkily and stared at me. Did I make him uncomfortable? Probably. I mean, getting walked into by a stranger whose long hair looked like it never had brush run through its tangles. To be fair, my hair was in a braid, and it didn't look as messy as usual. I cleared my throat, feeling a bit weird under his scrutinizing gaze, and politely said, "Excuse me." He looked like I just pulled him out of a daydream. "Yes, of course." he said, moving slightly away so I could pass. I slipped past him and walked over to the desk at the very back of the class. I sat down and took out a blank notebook. I settled myself in and waited for the first boring lecture of the day to begin.
