Chapter #24

Few months later..
Sophia's P.O.V
"Jake pick up the call.!" I pleaded almost crying on the phone.! It was for the fifty sixth time I was calling him. After a week of NO TALK session.!
"Nichole he is still not picking up the call..! I just hope everything is fine.!"
"Just calm down sweetie.! He must be busy somewhere.!" She said consoling me.
"It's been a week since we last had a word.!"
"You dint even try to call or what.!?"
"I did.! But then the Iceskating and bowling plan with friends got me so busy. All my old friends just reunited and planned to go. So I just dint call him."
"Are you serious.!? Are you trying to say that you dint call him because you were busy with other friends.?"
"Yes. No. I mean I asked him if he was interested in getting along but he refused to go.! And then I got busy with my relatives and dint call him.!"
"Well did you tell him about who all friends were going with you.?"
"Yes I told him. And then he refused to join us."
"Ok then since when is he not picking up the call.?"
"When we all were there at the bowling alley I called him up to know if he was free and could come up and meet me.!"
"Ok then what happened."
"He was kind of rude. I mean I asked him if everything was fine or not.? He said everything was fine and said he would talk later."
"Then why is he not picking up the calls.!?"
"Actually there is something more to it.!"
"Then what are you waiting for speak up.!"
"After he disconnected I called him again as I always do and also because I thought that there was something wrong."
"Ok.!"
"Well I was right.! He picked up the call and said that I should just enjoy myself and be with the people I am hanging around with. I dare not call him again he will talk to me when he feels like talking.!"
"What.? How could he talk with you like that. This is not the right way to talk.! Even if he is jealous he must not talk with you like that.!"
"Well actually Nichole the thing is we have been fighting over this for about a month now.! And this is not coming to an end. I thought things will get fine as time goes on but they got worse.!"While telling this my eyes filled with tears and the tears started flowing like someone had opened a tap.
Nichole came up to me, hugged me and asked me to narrate each and everything.!
"Do you remember our prom night.? All the guys went for an after party after that.?"
"Yes. Ofcourse.!"
"The same night Jake called me at around 3 am.! He was all drunk.! He was not in his senses, he drank too much.!"
"Ok so what happened exactly.? What did he say.!"
"He just said a line and kept on repeating it for over an hour.! And that line was 'Sophia I love you but you don't love me.!"
After hearing this Nichole burst into laughter.! Composing herself she said "And why on earth will he say that.?"
"Exactly I kept on asking him but he dint tell me then. The other day he was all blank.! He had no idea that he called me and said these lines.! On forcing he told me what the real thing was.!"
"And what was that real thing that make him say things so insane.!?"
"He said that I was posing too close to Kelvin for pictures and even while dancing and also the other guy friends which he dint like at all.!"
"Awwwwwww this is so cute.! He is jealous of other boys getting close to hi girl.!"
"Well I don't think it this way.! I mean he is just insecure.! He doesn't trust me.! He thinks I'll go with some other guy and leave him.!"
"Soph at this point I don't agree with you.! I mean you are getting him wrong.! It's just jealously speaking.!"
"Nichole you don't stop talking to people for jealousy sake.! This time it's pretty serious.!"
"Ok just try for one last time I know he will pick up your call.! I'll just take your leave as it's getting too late.! She said this and bid a goodbye.! Meanwhile I picked my cellphone and dialed his number.! The bell rang. And finally the call picked...
"Hello.!? Jake.!? Where have you been.? I have been calling you for so long.!" I said all these lines in one breath with a mixed emotion of happiness pain and fear.
"Hey Sophia.!" I finally heard a voice from the other side but it was not him.
"Hey.!" I said confused trying to figure out who it could be."Eric.!? Eric is it.?" I said still confused.
"Yes Eric here.! I am sorry to pick up the call but Jake isn't here.!" And as soon as he said this I heard someone sneeze it was Jake.!
"Eric please stop lying to me I know he is sitting by your side please give him the phone." I said crying on the phone. He immediately took the phone.
"Yes what is it now.!?"
"Jake just listen to me please talk to me tell me what happened.?" I said crying harder over the phone.!
"First of all act mature and stop crying. You are not a kid you're a grown up now act like one.!"
"I wont stop crying until you talk to me and tell me what the matter is.!"
"Listen Sophia let's not create a scene I am at a friend's place let's just talk over messages and stop crying for heavens sake.?"
"No first you have to tell me what the matter is.!"
"Over text messages.!"
Call disconnected..
"Sophia just stop bothering me again and again I don't want to talk to you about anything.!"
"Jake but atleast tell me what the matter is.! We will talk it out we will solve it.!"
"Sophia I am so done with this relationshit I don't want it anymore.! I need a break from you from us from this relation.! I just need a break.! This time I am just so done with everything. Just go away and leave me alone.! Now don't call or text me.!"
"Jake atleast tell me what the matter is.! Please talk to me atleast.! Jake please meet me once.! We shall talk this out.! Jake you can't leave like this.!"
"Sophia this is the last message you are getting from my side.! I don't want this relation anymore.! I don't care you laugh you cry you do anything in your life.!"
"It's so easy for you to say all this that you don't care at all.! Jake please don't do this to me or to you please talk to me.! Jake.!? Please.?"
"Sophia sending me messages wont help.! Just do whatever you feel like and stop bothering me.!" And with this message starts a never ending session of crying.! I called up Nichole the only person who could get me out of this.! And in no time with all the crying and sobbings I narrated the whole conversation to Nichole.!
All she could say was this time it's not gonna be easy to make him talk to you.! It's completely your fault as I can see.! Still I shall talk to him.!
"Everything's gonna be alright right.!?"
"Well I can't assure you babe but I promise I'll try to set things right.!"
"Nichole I really love him a lot.! He means everything to me.! I can bear everything but separation from him.!? I don't even want to imagine.! Please talk to him.!"
"Yes, sweetie just calm down and leave him alone for some time.!"
"Ok but please, talk to him.!" Saying this I slowly drifted to dreams after a period of crying and sobbing.

Jake's P.O.V
I looked at my phone screen blankly. I was numb. I felt helpless. My princess was crying and I was the reason to make her cry like that. But I just couldn't stop myself from acting that way. I don't like it. And whatever I say is for her good. I know the guys she hang around with and they are not the type who can be trusted upon. My princess needs to learn everything is not what she thinks it to be. I am sorry princess. I am really sorry for making you cry like that. You know that your tears make me weak.
I was all lost in my thoughts that my cellphone beeped again. This time it was not Soph it was a message from Nichole her best friend.The message read as:
Nichole: "Hey Jake!"
Jake: "What is it Nichole.? And yes if you are here to defend your best friend or to convince me to talk to her then I AM LEAST INTERESTED.!"
Nichole:"Jake m not here to defend her. Infact I am with you this time."
Jake: "If it's a trick to make me talk to her then babe you are dealing with the wrong person I suppose.! This time my decision is final.! I need a break a real break from this relationshit.!"
Nichole: " As I said I am with you.! Well I guess you are right on your part."
Jake:"Nichole what do you want from me.?"
Nichole: "Okay let's get this straight no more puzzles.!"
Jake:"Yes please.!"
Nichole: "Why do you want a break exactly.? I mean I hope you know that a break ends up in final break ups at the end.!"
Jake: "If it's supposed to be that way just let it be that way.! I don't care.!"
Nichole: "Jake don't  you think its so easy to say things than to actually mean it.! I mean come on both of us know about how much you love Soph and also about how much you care so why act like you don't care.!?"
Jake: "It's not acting I actually don't care now.! I am fed up I am just so fed up explaining her the same damn thing again and again but if she is not ready to listen then it's better I change myself and try to understand her.!"
Nichole: "Jake are you trying to say that you are trying to understand her by staying away from her.?"
Jake: " What else shall I do? I am keeping myself away from her so that whatever she does doesn't bother me she hangs around with other guys that's doesn't bother me this is the reason of me parting away from her. I am tired really tired of repeating the same thing again and again but she is not ready to listen. I give up this time.! I can't do it anymore."
Nichole: "Oh Jake.! This is not the solution you always ask her to act maturely now you are acting like a kid. I know you care about her.!abd that is the reason you stop her from hanging around with those guys but then talking out things always help.! Trust me.! Meet and talk it out.!"
Jake:"Nichole please don't force me to talk to her I really need a break from this relationship.!"
Nichole: " Jake just meet her once and try to figure out once.! Last time.? For my sake.?"
Jake: "This will be the last and the final time I'll meet her.! After this I am not going to listen to anything.! Deal.?"
Nichole: "Deal.!"
I kept my cellphone aside thinking about how will I face her. I made her cry a lot.! I hope she is fine.! Should I text her.? I think this is not the right time I'll text her tomorrow.!
