"Hey dad, what do you want for dinner?" She asked.

"Anything, really. I'm starving."

"Great. I'll make some potatoes. I got some from the store on the way home." She popped up and went to the kitchen to work. Good, now some alone time with Charlie.

"Dad, can I ask you a question?"

"It's not about anything personal is it?" He actually looked a little frightened. It's just like Charlie to shy away from issues.

"No it's not. It's actually about the Cullens." Charlie went off.

"What about them? I'm so sick and tired of people always talking about them like their aliens. Dr. Cullen could work anywhere he wanted to, but he decided to work here and we should be grateful. He's an excellent doctor and father. And I've never heard any trouble from his kids either. Never messing around in school, getting good grades, and just because their a little shy, people want to talk. That's all they do. Talk, talk, talk. Well, I don't care. I'm glad their here." It's obvious that he has thought about this at some point. A lot. So much that I just got an entire lecture before I even asked the question. Way to go Ella.

"I was actually just gonna ask about one of their sons, Edward."

"The big, brolic one?" He asked.

"No, the skinny, lean one. With the brown hair."

"Oh, that one. Well, what about him?" Now that I think of it, what could I ask him. Why is he so weird? I'd just get another lecture.

"Well, why-no, what.. I don't know. It's just, I got this weird feeling when I passed him today in the hallway. He was cold."

"Like his facial expression. It's like that all the time."

"No his skin. Before I passed out today, I touched his hand. And it was-"

"You passed out?! When?!"

"Today in school, but that's not important-"

"Of course it's important. Are you ok? Do you have a headache? Do you feel dizzy?" He touched my forehead.

"What? No-"

"I'm taking you to Dr. Cullen." He began taking his things and grabbed my arm, trying to pull me towards the door. "Bella, get the keys!"

"Charlie, I'm fine-"

"No your not. That's the second time you've fainted since you've been here. What is it? Stress? Your not eating? Drugs?"

"Why does everyone think I'm taking drugs?!" Bella tossed him the keys and he pushed me into the car. Bella got in the backseat. We drove all the way to Forks Hospital for no reason. I was fine, I didn't see why I needed to be here. Charlie rushed me out the car, into the building, passed the receptionist who was too busy to notice, and towards the ER. The ER? That was a little drastic.

"Dr. Cullen!" He yelled, a little too loudly.

Almost as if on cue, a tall, blonde man with golden eyes walked towards us. Wow. He was handsome. Behind him, was his son, Edward. There goes my peachy mood. His eyes were back to gold. I bet this is his father. It's times like this when I wish I was as accident proned as Bella, so I can be on the ER all the time. He was that gorgeous. Edward stifled a laugh, and I glared at him.

"Are you following me?" I asked him. "First the nurses office, and now here."

"My father works here." He said. He had a superior tone to him, as if he knew better than I did.

"Yeah, but he didn't work at the nurses office."

"You fainted. Did you want me to leave you there helpless?"

"I'm not helpless. I would have woken up eventually and walked home." Charlie put his hand on my shoulder.

"Which is why we're here actually. Ella has been fainting a lot recently and we don't know why." He said to Carlisle.

"We'll, we could run some tests. Have you been eating? No drugs or anything?"

"I am not on drugs!""

"She's been eating. She choked down like all the food in the house this morning. And I don't think he meant that type of drugs." Bella said. I glared at her and Edward laughed.

"First the nurses office, now the hospital. That escalated quickly." Edward said.

"Shut up pale face." I said and his smile disappeared. He became deadly serious and glared fiercely at me. Two could play that game. I glared back with the same intensity. I looked deeply into his golden eyes and I felt something come on. The gravestone flashed in my mind, but this time around it, there were dead bodies. Charlie, Renee, Phil, Michael, Dominique, Sasha, and... Mine.

My head snapped back to reality. Thankfully, I didn't faint this time. I was just frozen in place, which was just as weird. Everyone was looking at me with confusion and alertness.

"Earth to Ella?" Bella said.

"Huh? What's going on?" I asked.

"Ella." Charlie looked scared and worried.

"What?"

"Your eyes."

"My eyes?" I asked. He pointed to the mirror and I went to look. My pupils were gone. My eyes were a deep bluish color, even deeper than my regular eyes. They had slight tints of gold in them, stretching from the corners of the eye. It was beautiful and scary.

Carlisle and Edward gasped. Bella was wide-eyed. I thought I had questions on the Cullens, but now it seems like I have a few questions about myself.

And I had no idea where to get them.
