She didn't blame them. Sure her Uncle was dead but she didn't for a second think he didn't have contingency plans in effect for just such an occasion. He had probably already ordered all their deaths and knowing the kind of men he employed they wouldn't come back until their job was finished. Her gaze went back to the Dean's house as she bit her lip, meaning they wouldn't know what happened to her Uncle until all the Angels fell.
"He is dead," Jerry grumbled as Duncan began discussing something with one of the other drivers ready to take off, "He cannot hurt d'u or d'ur friends."
"But what about Lucifer," she whispered to him, "will he try to finish what my Uncle started?"
"What was that?" Duncan turned to her.
"Nothing," she shook her head, "just...I'm gonna go find Chels okay?"
"Here," he dug around in his pocket and tossed a small plastic something at her, another earpiece, "so I don't lose you again."
She nodded and forced a smile on her face as she turned and ran up the steps. She returned the greetings of others who were glad to see her safe and squirmed her way through the bodies still running in and out. Now though the items being dragged out were of the personal variety. Boxes of pictures and bags of clothes...that had to be where Chels was...
Sera tried calling to her over the earpiece, but there was so much chatter on the lines she couldn't tell. Didn't really matter, the figure she saw sitting with her face in her hands at the top of the stairs, bored, told Sera she was in the right place.
"Death," Sera ran up to her in relief, "Is Chels-"
"She's fine," she gave a big yawn and slowly stood, "didn't even vomit when we came off the current."
"Are d'u a'right Death?" Jerry asked with concern that Sera didn't understand.
She gave him a small shrug, "it's not every day I take a mortal through the current. Give me a couple of days and I'll be as good as new."
A door flew open from down the hall and that's when Sera realized what was wrong as the light shined through Death's form.
"You're...you're not all there!" Sera exclaimed.
But since she was the only one who could see either of her companions, Joanie, the one who had opened the door, shot her a confused look as she came down the hall.
"I, uh, meant...you've gotta get out of here Joanie. Hurry up and get your stuff together!"
Please buy it, Sera thought to herself.
"My last box, just wanted to say bye to Chelsea," she smiled and shifted the box into one arm so she could give Sera a hug before running down the stairs, "I'm so glad you're okay, see you in New York." She threw over her shoulder before disappearing out of Sera's sight.
"Good cover," Death said cheerfully, "And don't worry about me sweetie, one trip back to heaven and I'll be as good as new."
"So then why don't you just go?"
Death snorted out a laugh, "oh hunny, do you know how much shit I'm in? I step one foot back in heaven and God is going to have my ass for you."
Sera hadn't had thought about that, "so then that's why you haven't left me isn't it?"
Another shrug, "that and I like you, I really don't mind hanging with you. You're not like the other mortals with their horrifically boring lives all worried about trivial things like what to make for dinner or how they're going to pay the rent. You're fun," she leaned in for a hug. And for a barely there...spirit she seemed pretty solid to Sera.
