We sat quietly in the car, heading to his parents' house. You would think I would be a nervous wreck about the whole meeting your husband's vampire parents and all, but I had met them before and it really didn't bother.
"Babe, I have to confess." Ethan spoke up for the first time in almost four hours. I turned to look at him confused. "I know you'll do awesome, but my parents are very... picky." he said, using his wordings carefully.
"That's alright. Ive met them before, I'm not that different." I said calmly.
"Actually, I paid that couple to act like my parents. I knew they wouldn't accept you. he said, looking at me. My heart went into a frenzy, making me feel nervous.
"This was the best time to say it?" I hissed, sitting up straight and running my hand over my sleek hair. "Do I even look presentable?" I asked, knowing the answer to that. I had put on black skinny jeans, a white low v-neck shirt and a jean jacket with my old and dirty combat boots. I probably looked like some low-class girl trying to impress her future parents-in-law very badly.
"Babe, calm down. I think you look beautiful." he said, taking my hand from his. I gave him a harsh glare before turning to the mirror and putting my hair up. I luckily thought of straightening it and was now glad I did.
"You are my husband and the father of my daughter." I stated, re-applying make up. "You are obligated to say that." He chuckled, moving his hand to my leg. I looked at him, am eyebrow raised.
"I am not obligated to say that. I actually think you look amazing. If you want, we can stop at a store to buy something more of your liking." he suggested. I sighed, rubbing my forehead. I leaned against the seat, closing my eyes for a while.
"I'm fine." I said, opening my eyes. "I just overreacted." I looked in my bag, finding my eyeliner and mascara and put it on. I took a deep breath and then fixed my bangs. "You know what? I think I need a hair cut." I said, looking at him.
He turned to look at me, smiling. "If you want one, I'll take you right now." he said. I shook my head, knowing exactly what he was trying to do.
"We are going to your parents'. I'll get a hair cut later." I said, shoving my bag on the floor. "Will there be anyone we know?" I asked him.
"Yes, Nathaniel will most definitely be there. My father trusts him a lot." he answered. I groaned, mentally slapping myself for ever even liking him. He gave me a small squeeze, letting me know everything was going to be fine.
"I'm scared." I admitted, hating the way my voice sounded.
"I'll there for you." he said, looking at me slightly. "I promise." I smiled at him, moving in my seat so I faced him completely.
"I love you." I said, kissing him on the jaw. He hummed in response and turned in a dirt road. I looked back at Indy, who was still sleeping.
"I love you too." he said, after a minute of silence. I sat back, anticipating every second that past. "When we leave, I will take both of you anywhere you'd like to go." he said, his face glowing brightly.
"Let's go on a cruise. I've never been on a boat." I admitted, smiling at him. He looked at me from the corner of his eye, making my heart skip a beat and then sprint in my chest. My face started heating up and I turned to the window.
"A cruise it is." he spoke softly, his voice sweet as ever. "We're here." he said, making the car go into a complete stop. I looked up, noting the big, Victorian house in front of us. I turned in my seat, shaking Indy.
"Wake up baby, time to meet grandma and grandpa." I said softly. She opened her bright blue eyes and looked at me, a smile growing on her face. I undid her seat belt and helped her get out of the car seat.
