Really?

Gage kept his blade in hand and moved Lizzy so he could crack open the door. Oh fuck him. Lucifer was making a bee-line for his chambers. He was alone, but that didn’t really mean anything.

He shut the door tight and tried desperately to remember all that bullshit he had seen during the crusades. He had seen this done a thousand times during that genocide, men kneeling before others to confess their sins in hope of being cleansed and accepted, instead of damned and decapitated.

He grabbed Lizzy by her shoulders, spinning her around so his back was pressed against the door, “quick, confess your sins.”

   “What?” she asked confused.

“Confess to me,” he insisted, “tell me you’re sorry for the shit you did in life.”

   “I…” she shook her head.

The latch on the door lifted and there was pressure against Gage’s back, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit…

“What is going on, who dares to enter my chamber uninvited!” Lucifer boomed from the other side.

“Repent, say you’re sorry for killing yourself but you did it for righteous reasons or some shit like that. Just…apologize to God,” Gage said quickly.

“Gage!” Lucifer roared as he slammed against the door, “Guards, Bane, get in here now!”

   Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

“Now Lizzy!” Gage said as calmly as he could, which wasn’t very calm at all, he was actually starting to shake in panic.

Lizzy face twisted into fear, “I’m…I’m sorry, I…I couldn’t let them die for me!” she shouted at him.

“Works for me,” he said on a rush of air and pulled the bottle out, “I absolve you Lizzy, go unto heaven.”

He ripped the plug out and splashed the water over her.

Her body began to steam instantly and she looked to her body in wonder before looking to Gage, “you saved me.”

   “That’s was the plan, yes.”

“No,” she shook her head as her figure began to lighten, “you saved me from those men. If you hadn’t had told them to stop then…”

“Then you wouldn’t have been able to save Sera, believe me Lizzy, you’ve paid it forward.”

“Thank you,” he saw the tears welling up in her eyes.

Gage had to hold his hand up in front of his eyes she was growing so bright, “it was the right thing to do, you don’t need to thank-”

He was cut off and sent stumbling into the room from some mighty force. Oh, the Twins working together to break down the door, okay that made sense. Only problem was Lizzy hadn’t quite made it out yet. As a matter of fact Lucifer, Bane and the Sadist Twins made it just in time for that flash of golden light to blind them all. Gage took the only opportunity he was going to get and shot past them to the outer chamber. He was already thinking of Sera when something latched onto his wing, catching him before he could make it out of there.

He was stuck in this realm, pinned down in a moment’s time by three sets of impossibly strong hands…and one foot. The one Lucifer brought down on Gage’s torso in anger. On earth he could come and go as he pleased, but with another immortal being holding him back Gage wasn’t going anywhere.
