Gage’s shoulders sagged, this was not what he needed right now, “I’m not going to fuck her, or you for that matter,” he pointed a firm finger at Pestilence, “she’s a gift for our Lord.”
“What would Lucifer want with this sack of flesh?” she asked as she dragged Lizzy off the floor to evaluate her. Gage wasn’t sure if the girl’s whimper was from the pain, or figuring out who she was most likely about to be introduced to.
“She’s a sacrificial suicide,” Gage stated and held his hand out for Lizzy, “I figured he’d have some fun breaking her, so give her back.”
“What? No…” Lizzy moaned and began struggling against Pestilence’s hold.
He wanted to reassure her otherwise, especially when he could see the blood trailing down the side of her face, but for now it worked in his favor. For all appearances she feared him.
But Pestilence just continued to stand there unmoving and clinging to the girl as she looked to Gage in distrust.
Gage huffed, “does she look like the kind I usually take to bed? No, I don’t like a fight you know this.”
“Yet you fight me at every advance,” she hissed.
“Because. I. Don’t. Want. To. Fuck. You.” He punctuated his words, “you disgust me and the only reason I rutted with you the last time was because you tricked me.”
Wrong choice of words. Not that he expected them to win her over but he really didn’t think he had time for this song and dance. It wouldn’t be too long till Greed got around to the Senator, and it wasn’t just their names he divined from his touch, but their modes of death. There would be a clear mental picture in the Senator’s mind of Gage dealing his death shot regardless if it was from the in between.
Pestilence sneered and spun away, dragging Lizzy away with a trail of blood following them back towards the reception pit.
He dug both hands into his hair and squeezed his temples with the heels of his hand. He was thinking of her too much like a mortal, thinking that she had any sort of reasoning in her head. There was none, or sympathy for that matter so trying to play on that wouldn’t work. But there was one thing that always worked, eye for an eye. You do for me I do for you. It made him sick to think about- how could he even think about touching Sera after that-but he may not have another choice.
“Pestilence wait,” he shouted after her.
She stopped but she didn’t turn around.
“I know you heard about what I’m accused of, and I know you know why I want that soul.”
Still no response.
“If you give her back then…then I will give you something you want.”
Forget the end result, just watching her shiver in delight made him want to cleanse himself…with fire.
“Done,” she spun around with a grin, casually tossing Lizzy back to Gage.
She landed with a thud on her stomach and began choking from the air that had whooshed out of her lungs on impact. Gage only glanced at her quickly, afraid to take his eyes off of Pestilence and that she would take him up on the offer right now. Instead she placed a hand on her hip and gave him what he thought would be a sultry pose on someone with more than just-literally-skin and bones.
“Do hurry with your delivery lover,” she purred, “I’ll be waiting for you.”
“Where?” he asked as he swallowed back bile.
