On the morning of Valentine's Day I woke up feeling great. Alone in my own bed, my groggy hangover gone and not expelled from school. Plus it was Valentine's Day, the first Valentine's Day that I'd had a boyfriend for. Neither of us were particularly sentimental, so I didn't expect anything super mushy- but I was excited.
When Brad knocked at my door at around 5 I was still getting dressed. I subconsciously shoved on a robe and leapt to the front door, I flung it open and gasped... Brad's previously eyebrow covering hair had been chopped, not dramatically but enough to make him look almost older. His lip and eyebrow piecing shimmered under the dull sunlight. He'd clearly been on a sunbead as his skin was 2 shades darker than normal, his skin stood in perfect contrast to his buttoned down shirt, showing off a few of his delicate tattoos on his chest and neck, and then his heavy winter coat.
"Holy shit you look good." I gasped, hugging him tightly. "You hair looks great." I said into the fabric of his coat.
I looked up to see his smile, so I smiled in response.
"I love it when you smile." He spoke huskily, pressing his index finger to my lips. I kissed his finger, grinning again by instinct against his skin. I grabbed Brad's hand to pull him upstairs but he stopped me.
"Babe. I just wanna speak to your dad real quick... I'll be up in a sec, okay?" He asked softly.
I nodded, slightly confused but not pushing it. I sprinted back to my room, where I had all time low, a new band that Connor had introduced me to- a kind of punk vibe, but I liked it.
I was dancing around the room and trying to work out what to wear for our mysterious night out when Brad let himself in. I jumped in my stride, bursting out laughing as Brad rolled his eyes and asked me why I was listening to 'Connors shit'.
"I kinda like it." I replied honestly. Laughing again as Brad laughed at me. "Why did you wanna speak to my dad?" I asked curiously.
Brad smirked. "You'll find out later."
"I want to know now baby." I winged, poking out my lower lip. Brad moved forward and pecked at my lips sweetly.
"It's a surprise..." He whispered into my mouth.
We left the house 15 minuets later, Brad having helped me pick an outfit of casual attire- leaving me guessing what we were doing this evening. We chatted casually about the band, about school and whatnot as we walked to the train station and boarded a train to Birmingham. No matter how many times I asked where we were going, he just smiled at me through his perfectly sculpted dimples and shook his head. Once we eventually reached Birmingham it was dark outside, the city was illuminated by streetlights and kept alive by the people on the streets. Brad led me through the crowds, pulling me though the chatters of people, holding me close as he felt my palms begin to sweat and my heart begin to race.
"Nearly there babe. Hold on." He murmured into my ear, soothing my anxiety.
As we got closer to our destination I soon became aware of the alarming amount of young girls and teenagers walking with us. That's when I looked up and realised that Brad and I stood outside a large building which read 'Genting Arena'. I looked at Brad quickly, catching glimpse of his happy smirk.
"We're here." He smiled. I turned to face him, looking up at his beautiful face.
"Who are we seeing?" I asked quietly, unable to contain my excitement.
"Mcfly." He replied, his smile growing as he watched my face stretch into grin.
I jumped into the air, releasing a small excited squeak. Brad laughed at my reaction, leaning down and kissing my wind blown hair.
"Did I do well?" He asked.
"Your the best." I replied, pulling at Brad's waist and pressing my head against his chest, breathing in his sent- god he smelt good.
