The bell rang suddenly and I shot up in my seat. I clumsily grabbed my bag and carried it out into the hall. I sped through the halls, occationally bumping into the shoulders of strangers. I pressed my hand against the lockers.
"Hey!" I turned around to see tall blonde girl run towards me. Her skirt was a light blue and her shirt was a deep maginta. She looked like a barbie doll with her long lashes and long hair. Everything about her was long, her hair, her legs, her lashes. She was what everyone wanted to be.
I even found myself a little envious when she stood next to me. She was at least a foot taller than me. Making her probably almost six feet.
"Um, hello?" I looked up at her. Her teeth were so white as she smiled.
"Hi, I'm Tiffany. You must be Natalie! I just wanted to introduce myself. And I was wondering if you were going to the diner." She smiled.
"Oh, yeah. I totally forgot about that. Um, can I bring my brother?"
"Yeah, yeah! Go ahead. Ask for Tiffany when you get there, if you want."
"Okay, I'll make sure to do that."
"Ty, we're going to a diner thing. Okay?" I met Ty at the corner of the block the school was on. It was starting to rain. I pulled my hood up and wrapped my arm around Ty.
"What? Why? I don't want to go!" He stopped walking and jerked my arm away.
"Because a bunch of people asked me to go and I didn't want to be rude and say no. But I bet they have milkshakes, I'll buy you one. Okay?"
He loked down, thinking and patting his lips with his index finger and said, "Fine. But lets make this quick."
The truck clunked and puffed its way downtown where the diner was. It was the only diner in town and the name wasn't that creative.
Sophie's was the name.
The color themes were a light blue and white. It almost looked like the ones back in the 50's. Like the ones my mom used to like.
Unconciously I placed my hand over my heart. I looked over to see that Ty had made a face.
"It's smells funny." He said.
"I know," I sighed. " just don't go crazy when we get in there. That reminds me, I have to tell you about today. Something really weird happened-"
"Natalie! You made it!" Connor, the lemon haired boy, stood in the door way, holding it open. He had a dirty apron wrapped around his waiste.
"Hi Connor." I smiled, " This is my brother, Tyson. Ty, this is Connor."
"Hey bro, nice to meet you." Connor stuck his hand out and Ty hesitantly shook it.
"Hi." Ty said.
"So," Connor smiled. " There,s an empty booth by the window. I'lll show you to it. If you want."
" Yeah sure." We followed Connor into the the diner. He handed us our menus and asked us what we wanted to drink.
"Water."
"Milkshake!" Ty exclaimed and looked at me. He gave me the type of face that said oh-yes-you-are-paying. I felt a smile creep onto my face, he smiled at me back.
"Okay, it'll be right out." And then Connor left.
"That guy likes you, Nat."
"What are you talking about? I just met him today."
"So?"
"So! He obviously can't like me after one day. Not even a day."
"Nat.... He likes you."
