Boom!

Paramedics pushed an unconscious Dan at a fast pace through the crowded hospital followed by a terrified Phil. They were all shouting their sort of "Doctor language" at each other leaving Phil only wondering what they were talking about. Even through all the big fancy Words and fast paced tongue, he could tell it was something bad.

"Hey, what's going on?! What's going to happen to him?!" Phil questioned in hysterics for the what seemed like the billionth time. Ignored. The doctors and nurses just continued their own little way of words leaving Phil completely in the dark. No matter how may times he asked, Phil was treated as if he wasn't even there.

"HEY! WILL SOMEONE TELL ME WHATS HAPPENING TO HIM?!" he roared in anger.

"Sir," a nurse's stern voice rattled as a firm hand gripped his shoulder.

Phil stopped and turned to her as Dan was wheeled away to a surgery room. "Can you please tell me what's happening to boyfriend?!" he begged.

"Mr. Howell is suffering sever internal bleeding. They're going to take him to surgery, but they don't know if he'll make it," the nurse explained.

Her words hit Phil like a bullet. He was hoping that Dan would magically get better some how, but reality had come and claimed its land. The moment Phil had beef dreading for so long now had finally come. This could it, the day Dan died.

Phil waited outside the hospital room for ages just pacing, sitting, and repeat. Minutes and hours passed as he twiddled his thumbs nervously and impatiently hoping that a doctor would come out of that room soon with good news, and not the bad that he was dreading.

Hours passed as Phil sat in tears fidgeting and changing positions in his seat. The passing hours were killing him, and I made it even worse that he didn't know what the outcome would be.

Finally, a nurse walked into the waiting room from the place where they were operations in Dan. Phil stood up and swallowed.

"He's alive," the nurse informed him. Phil sighed with relief, but tensed up when he realized the hard look on her face. "Mr. Howell has slipped into a coma. Whether he wakes up or not depends on if he can physically and wants to mentally."

Phil held his breath. This meant that he had made it past the surgery, but there was a chance he wouldn't make it any farther. "Can I see him?" he asked shakily.

The nurse nodded her head and motioned for him to follow her. She led him down a hallway to a room not too far away and opened the door. "He's in here, but like I said Mr. Howell is in a coma, so he won't be responsive."

Phil thanked the her as he slowly stepped inside. The nurse closed the door shut behind him and Phil could hear the sound of her getting further away.

On the bed was non other than Dan, eyes closed and unconscious. It almost looked like he was sleeping, but Phil knew better. It broke his heart to see the man he loved possibly on his deathbed.

Phil sat down in a chair right beside the hospital bed and intertwined his fingers with Dan's. "Dan," he said softly, "if you can hear me, I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry, and I'm going to be right here until the very end. I never wanted this to happen, and I'm sorry if I was to hopeful for a miracle that wasn't possible. I love you." Teary eyed, Phil planted a soft kiss on Dan's lips then laid his head on the younger boy's chest.  Before he knew it, Phil was sobbing into the lifeless boy's hospital gown.
