“That I had snapped,” Sera finished for her, “and I still wouldn’t count that out.”

“Oh hunny,” Chelsea wrapped an arm around her for a quick hug, “I wouldn’t blame you if you did. This is all kind of weird you have to admit it,” she nodded across the way to Death and Jerry, or at least Jerry because there was no way for her to know where Death was.

“Yeah,” Sera pulled in a long breath, “yeah I guess it is,” but it was what was and there was no changing what she had seen. “So then that’s it, then you got here?”

   “Yup,” she stated simply.

“You said something about Duncan though, about him hacking the security?”

“Well yeah, Lacy figured you had to be here for a reason, which she was convinced you were here with Lizzy but whatever, it was still a lead so Duncan was watching for you to come back. And when you did I called Lacy to see when it was all clear so I could get you out. She’s in the lobby now watching for your Uncle’s thugs as we speak.”

“But why would she help you, why would she help me? I would think her agenda would be the opposite because the Angels would just do the same thing to her they’re doing to me.”

“Yeah, but, blackmail works no matter who has the information,” Chelsea grinned deviously, “but we can talk about that later, so,” her expression changed, “that was Gage huh? He’s cute I’ll give you that.”

Sera felt her cheeks heat, “um, thanks?”

“Though I never thought you would be the type to ditch your friends for your boyfriend,” she grumbled playfully.

“Chels I so didn’t mean it like that,” Sera got defensive, “I mean, I…I died, I didn’t just ditch you. And it wasn’t on purpose-”

Chelsea chuckled, “relax hunny I know. I was just kidding, but you wanna tell me how it is he disappeared like that. You said he wasn’t mortal so what does that make him?”

“Not my boyfriend first of all,” Sera began.

“I think he would disagree,” Death sing-songed.

“Well he’s not here to, so I say he’s not.”

“Oh that’s just weird,” Chelsea muttered, “I mean I know who you’re talking to, but, the not seeing her part…”

Death rolled her eyes and pushed off the couch, “I forgot, hold on, I’m coming to touch her.”

She was just about there when a trilling sound began in the front hall.

“Oh that’s my phone,” Chelsea jumped up, “I’ll be right back.”

Death watched as she disappeared into the foyer before looking Sera’s outfit over, “I think that’s the most put together I’ve ever seen you,” she grinned and waved for Sera to stand up. And when she did she began dragging her fingers though her hair, “Gage won’t recognize you when he- what the?”

Sera snapped around to see what she did, to see what had startled her so to see a man standing on the balcony. Not just any man, but a very beautiful man with golden wings tucked behind his back. He had long blonde hair and was wearing nothing but sandals and a white linen skirt. Well that and a sword strapped to his hip. Sera gasped, he had to be an angel.

He took a step forward and reached for the door handle, and in that moment their eyes met and she knew who he was.

   “Michael.” She whispered.
