“What’s she trying to say is she brought my soul back to my body even though reversing death is about the worst infraction you can perform for reasons they still won’t explain to me though I have an idea,” Sera said quickly.
Seemed Death wasn’t the only one with the rambling problem.
There was a long pause before Chelsea said anything, she just looked around at the three of them taking it all in. Eventually she frowned and turned to Death, “there’s one thing I need to ask though, are those contacts?”
“Contacts? You just…I tell you all that and you ask if I’ve got contacts?” Death asked with a laugh, “okay, she’s cool, and no sweetie, it’s all me.”
“Kind of figured,” she nodded thoughtfully.
“Why is it she believes when even d’u did not?” Jerry asked Sera.
Looking over her friend skeptically, Sera just shrugged, she had no idea.
“I’m saving the breakdown for later,” Chels answered for her.
But that wasn’t satisfying Jerry and he stalked up to her with narrowed eyes, “Are d’u sure it is not be’cause d’u have been warned of what tu expect?”
“Excuse me?” Chelsea asked offended, “warned of what? That my best friend is hanging out with Death and a demon from hell with impeccable grooming skills? Who would ever believe that?”
“D’u have,” Jerry drawled.
“Because I don’t have any choice,” Chelsea threw her palm in the air, “I just watched her boyfriend disappear in front of me, watch her,” she thumbed to Death, “appear in front of me plus your face just changed,” she pulled her face away in mild disgust, “like there’s another one in there…”
Jerry stood firm, “I don’ believe d’u.”
“And I don’t care if you do or not because it’s the truth,” Chelsea barked and looked around Jerry to Sera, “can you tell him to back off please? You know I’m not here to hurt you right?”
Sera couldn’t believe she was actually going to say this, “Chels you…you gotta know how careful we have to be-”
Sera didn’t get to finish before Chelsea pulled up a leg and kicked Jerry right between the legs, “that’s for making her doubt me asshole,” she spat to his hunched figure.
“Hey!” Death shook Chelsea’s arm as if to reprimand her, “there was no need for that. If you had just asked I would have backed you up. I’m attached to your soul sweetie, I can see the truth in your words.”
“Oh,” Chelsea said quietly and then looked to Jerry’s hunched figure, “well I’m still not sorry.”
With a huff Death dropped her arm and went to Jerry’s side, “well I am,” she grumbled, “man isn’t going to be able to fuck for a week like this.”
Yeah, it was probably better Chelsea couldn’t hear that. Sera had suspected as much between the two but if Chelsea heard they were involved sexually she might doubt Death’s sincerity. Think she was just making excuses to defend her “boyfriend”.
“I be alright,” Jerry choked out as Death helped him to his feet, “t’ough dis would be a nice time tu check out of dis body so I didn’t have tu feel dat anymore.”
“Not sorry,” Chelsea crossed her arms over chest.
As Death helped Jerry hobble over to the couch Sera figured it was a good time to change the subject, “so how did you get here so quick Chels?”
