“it also looks like a place of no return” said Luxe in a worried tone
“yeah” said Ariana “he said once everyone has crossed this bridge…it’ll crumble”
“well…let’s go everyone” said Sophia “we can rest properly once we reach the bridge” with a series of small nods they all made their way to the bridge.
They all arrived at the foot of the bridge. The bridge was very long, with metal supports and a tarmac floor. What was interesting was a wall of white that covered the front. Kimbra looked at it “it looks really pretty…” she walked to it “do you think we can cross it?”
“here let me try” said Sophia turning her arm into an ice spear “and stick this in” nothing happened as she retracted her ice arm from the light then reverting it to normal “now my arm” she slowly and gingerly put her arm through “nothing” the light just simply shone “it looks like it’s just a normal light” she then stepped through “alright Kimbra now you”
“be careful” called Ariana but Kimbra stepped through the light unaffected
“it’s alright it’s just shiny” said Kimbra “come on everyone” one-by-one everyone stepped through unaffected leaving Shadow till last “now you Mister Shadow” Shadow sensing nothing wrong went to the light but as he stepped through he lurched forward “Mister Shadow!” all the girls gathered round
“it’s alright I’m fine” he said standing up straight “I just felt…this strange sensation for a second and I got dizzy”
“alright if you’re sure” said Sophia worriedly
“it’s okay I’m fine” he said with a smile reassuring them “but It oddly felt as if I was being scanned”
A short time later as they stepped off the bridge the sound of rumbling could be heard “does anyone else hear that?” said Sophia as the rumbling became followed by the creaking of metal
“everyone the bridge!” called Ariana. As they all turned round the bridge just began to fall apart. The tarmac floor crumbled away, the metal simply fell apart and in only a minute the once strong bridge simply crumbled and fell in the ocean
“Zodiac wasn’t kidding about the bridge” said Luxe in a slightly gasping tone
“yeah but this means” said Shadow “that everyone has now crossed this bridge” just then the same voice echoed throughout the world
“THE PATH IS NOW CLOSED. THOSE WHO HAVE MADE IT ARE ALL THAT REMAINS. THREE POWERS HAVE REACHED THE ROAD TO SALVATION…BUT ONLY ONE WILL REACH THE END. NOW HEAD FOR THE SECOND BRIDGE. THOSE I DEEMED WORTHY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ADVANCE UNTIL ONE POWER IS ERADICATED. THOSE WHOSE PALMS ARE MARKED WITH AN X ARE THOSE REPRESENTING EACH POWER. PROCEED ONWARD TO SALVATION ”
The voice went away as quickly as it came leaving the group all slightly bewildered. Luxe was the first “the voice said…three powers? But…there’s already six of us here”
“I think he referred to groups. He didn’t say individuals after all and if we put together whose still around…that works out to three” Ariana then held out three fingers
“so there’s Neo” he tapped her index “Jenna and Sayomi” tapping her middle “and us” he said tapping her ring finger “well…my hands are bare”
