Chapter 20- A Band's Christmas

Start from the beginning

"She's your girlfriend if she's your fiance moron." Rosie rolls her eyes

"Mo won!" Macy cries triumphantly.

"Mum's going to kill me now." Rosie groans.

"Lincoln," My mum's voice sounds from the hall, everyone's still standing in the foyer.

"Hey Mam." I answer a half smile on my face

"Mo won!" Macy cries again pointing at Jace.

"Sorry Mum, I forgot she was here." Rosie says guiltily.

"What's done is done, come on let's get you boys settled in." She picks up Macy and leads us all into the house. "There are two guest rooms with two beds a piece so four of you can settle in those. And you two,  Rosie and Macy have another bed in their room it's a bunk and a twin. Arabella can go in there. Matt you'll have to share with Lincoln and Jace, they have the same set up."

"Actually Ma'am, if it's not too much to ask I'd like to stay with my sister, we'll share a bed, so that we don't kick anyone to the couch."

"That's fine dear." my mum answers, "I expect you to get them settled into their rooms." I nod to my mam and she walks away, "Dinner's served at 730." She calls over her shoulder walking Macy back to the kitchen.

"Who's going to stay with Jace and I?"

"I will." Nolan offers.

"And Luke and I'll share a room." Henrick says.

"That means you're stuck with me." Zander tells Matt.

"I'll show you all where you're staying." I tell them as we head upstairs. I show Matt the first guest room and he puts Bella on the bed and his stuff on the floor. Zander throws his stuff on the other bed. "The bathroom is right through there. Two sinks and a shower." Matt nods and sits with his sister on the bed watching her nervously. Zander flops down on the other bed. I leave them and take the rest of the group to the other room depositing them and then heading to my own room. It hasn't changed. Still has my music festival posters up. My ancient football trophies, rodeo trophies, and some of my old demos.

"I cannot believe you haven't tried to get the label to let us publish these songs."

"They're not really our sound." I tell him.

"Who cares, they're good." He says.

"Management, Simon, and anyone higher up on the ladder would care." I tell him.

"We could tweak the songs to fit our sound." Nolan suggests, "That way we please both the label and we get to use decent material that doesn't sound so cliche."

"It's worth a shot I guess." I shrug. "Go ahead."

"Thanks," He puts my demos into his suitcase, "I'll rewrite some of the score to make it fit our sound, but the lyrics will probably stay the same."

"If you make it work, that'd be amazing. I worked really hard on those songs, then the label didn't like them. I was kinda disappointed."

"They'll work. They have to." He tells me.

"Come on." I tell him, "My family doesn't serve dinner after Mum sits down."

"Where's Bella?"

"She's exhausted, I let her keep sleeping." Matt answers. "I'm going to take dinner up to her later."

"Rosie, grace." My father nods to her.

"Heavenly Father we come to you tonight asking your blessing on our food, thanking you for bringing Lincoln and his band safely home. And we thank you for bringing new friends. Lead us safely into the holiday and the new year. In Christ's Name, Amen."
