Cashier

I've worked as a part time cashier before like this year. I noticed that people tend to assume that cashiers should know everything and anything about the things that are sold in the shop. In case you're wondering, I worked at a bookstore-cum-stationery shop.

I admit that if there isn't a customer service counter in the shop, then you'll find someone standing behind a or rather any counter. If we didn't know anything we'll page for our respective colleagues to assist you right. Okay, majority of the customers are fine but there will always be a handful of customers that are not fine.

I was insulted countless of time by customers. For not knowing how to answer their weird and creative questions.

I didn't get the uniform until a month later because of some reasons and my name tag wrote "Temp staff" underneath my name. Obviously I am new and wouldn't be able to answer all your weird questions right?!

Anyone who's reading this, please be kind to the cashiers you encounter. Cashiers are not an all-knowing person who can answer all of your enquiries. They will try their best to answer but don't make things hard for them.
