"Because that is your title, or it will be once the Mating is complete, in the pack. I am the Alpha. I make sure everyone is taken care of, ensure our safety, and I keep an eye on most everything. I have many people who have jobs throughout the pack to ensure that nothing is missed. I can't keep an eye on everything by myself. You are the Luna. You will be by my side and help me in any way you wish. We can start small and see what you like or what you excel at." He explains.
While he talks, I continue going through the motions of cutting and breading chicken into strips. The pan on the stove with the oil is ready for the chicken strips as soon as I'm done. I glance up at him as he explains and I can see the lust still in his eyes as I notice they never once stray from me. Blushing I finish breading the last of the chicken and walk over to the sink to wash my hands. Wiping them off on a dish towel I turn around and Dalton is still staring at me. The lust and warmth pouring from his gaze almost has me going to him but I hold back. There's no way I am going to be the first to break here.
Focusing on my task I quickly make work of the late lunch/early dinner that I promised I would make him. Once all the food is done I make a plate for Dalton and sit it in front of an empty chair. The large, what had to be made from Oak, table had enough room for 30 people to sit in front of it. It just felt right to put his plate full of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans and rolls at the head of the table. The chair was the largest at the table made sturdy and fit for a man his size and title. Turning around to head back in the kitchen I almost ran right into Dalton's firm chest. Gazing up at him I see him holding a glass of what looked like tea, hopefully sweet tea, and a plate filled with food as well.
"I already made your plate." I say chuckling and patting his chest. Reaching for the plate he leans out of my reach and placing the glass and the plate down in front of the chair beside his own. Frowning I shrug and turn toward the kitchen.
My squeal fills the dining room and kitchen area, scaring some of the people milling around, as a large arm wraps around my waist and lifts me into the hair. Slapping lightly at Dalton's arm I laugh for a moment before I'm gently placed in a chair. Looking down I see the plate and tea and it begins to dawn on me. Tears filling my eyes I glance over where Dalton is now sitting and the smile he has on his face begins to fall when he notices my tears.
"What is wrong my Queen?" He leans forward and caresses my face.
"You're so kind to me." I murmur to him as he wipes my eyes. His face beams at me before swooping down and placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
"I will do anything to make you happy love, anything at all. If I am capable of doing it, I will." His gaze is honest and fierce as he speaks the words without breaking eye contact.
"You do make me happy." I say before nuzzling my face into his palm and placing a kiss. "I do need to clean the kitchen though. I'll come eat with you as soon as I'm done." Smiling I move to get up but I'm held down. Frowning at Dalton I smack at his hand again.
"Other people are already moving around the kitchen, it is fine love."
Irritation fills me as I look at him. "I made the mess, I should clean it up. It is not their job to cater to me."
Understanding fills his eyes and he pulls me into his lap where I can see everyone in the kitchen cleaning and chatting away happily. "It's not like they are your maids or anything like that. They take care of us because we take care of them. This is how they show they care. It would hurt them if you shooed them away when they are trying to do something nice for you."
We sit and watch them for a few moments and I can genuinely tell that the people do not mind what they are doing. They all do seem happy. Shrugging I turn my head and place a kiss on his lips. "Ok."
