{ Maya's POV }
Seeing Riley with Lucas kills me. But shes happy with him, and all I want is for Riley to be happy... Right? Im sitting in Mr. Matthew's class and all i could think about was her. Wait- Am I falling in love with my best friend? No... I- I cant be. Riley is my straight friend. But her eyes... She so perfect. I began to drift off into a daydream until the familiar voice of Riley made me get my head out of the clouds. "Maya, you alright?" Riley asked me. I looked at her and forced a smile. "Yea, it's cool Riles" I lied. As bad as I felt, I can't admit to her. I just can't! But man... Do I wish she was mine.

Maya seemed so- distracted in class. I can tell, I mean shes my best friend of course. Just something was bothering her and I couldn't put my finger on it. She was never this quiet in class. After class I rushed out to Maya. She ran out of the room as if she was trying to get away from me. I felt my heart sink. To even think about Maya mad at me made me upset. "Maya!" I called, racing up to her. I smiled when Maya stopped and acknowledged me. "What's up Riley?" She asked. I looked her straight in the face. "Have you been ignoring me?" I asked, not wanting her to say 'yes'. I know Maya, she'll probably just dodge the question.
