Shay's POV:

Everything is still awkward between Niall and I.

Flashback

"Niall....you told me you loved me."

"What? I did?"

"Yeah. Then you passed out."

"Oh."

"Did you mean that?"

"I was drunk."

"But people usually spill the truth when they're drunk."

"So what if I do love you?"

"I'd ask a lot of questions."

"Like?"

"How long? Why didn't you tell me sooner? Why?"

"10th grade, afraid you didn't love me back, and you're my best friend. Beautiful, funny, caring, smart, and spectacular."

"But magazines say you like girlie-girls and I'm definitely not a girlie-girl."

"They pushed the question on me and I wasn't going to describe you so I said something quick."

"Oh."

"I'm a dumbass."

"Don't say that." I put my hand on his shoulder.

He pushed it off, "I'm gonna go to my room."

He got up and started to walk away, "Why?"

"Because everything is awkward now." He said, not even turning around. He went to his room and closed the door. I heard crying and went up to his door. I was about to knock but stopped myself.

Everything is awkward now.

Harry was upset with Niall when I told him but he didn't do anything. He understood.

Flashback

"Harry?"

"Yeah babe?"

"Niall told me he loved me."

"What?"

"Yeah." His face squished up. "Please don't do anything."

"I won't. I understand why he does."

"Why?"

"Look at you. You're one of the best people on earth."

"Aww. Thanks babe."

Niall's POV:

I was in my room writing a song. There was a knock at the door so I quickly put my guitar back on its stand and shoved the papers under my pillow.

"Come in."

Shay walked in and shut the door.

"I think we need to talk."

"We haven't been doing a lot of that lately."

"I know" She sat at the end of my bed, "and I'm sorry about that."

"I'm sorry too."

"It's just that we're best friends and I'm dating someone."

"I know I know. Harry always gets the pretty girls." I said under my breath.
