Why I Write

I keep my pen and pad close. My thoughts come in waves. To capture those thoughts, I must always be at the ready. If not valuable thoughts slip out of reach.

At home, capturing thoughts and converting them into work is less hectic. I have the space and privacy to allow my thoughts to flow.

While I am away from home, I have to make provisions to stay ready. When caught off guard, precious thoughts and concepts escape.

I never imagined myself as a writer. Now I can't imagine how I got through life without writing. The self revelations that I now experience is purely therapeutic.

Yes...I must admit that some of my work is sheer entertainment. The balance is the true essence of my self.

My writing after all is the result of a prescribed therapy... Medication you might say.

A way to practice concentration. A means to record the haunting thoughts and memories that have remaind locked away in mind for years.
Taunting me in the form of dreams, visions or nightmares.

I now write so I can escape the bondage of PTSD...if only for the moment.
