i was just relaxing on my sofa whilst watching 'Buffy the vampire slayer' when my phone sprang into life playing avenged sevenfold, not the kind of thing you need to hear when your watching a particulary scary tv show. i answered it. '' RUUBBBY, YOUVE GOT TO HELP ME!'' jacob said sounding worried,
''Whats up hun?'' i replied
'' its izzie, ''
'' whats she done now?'' i asked. rolling my eyes
'' shes gone missing.''
''WHAT!?! when where who how why?''
''i dunno, she went off to look in the new shop and i went to look in pulp, and she never came back, i went in the shop and she was gone so i rang home and apparently she hasnt been back. ive called everyone and they havnt seen her. im seriously worried. HELP ME RUBY!''
'' uhhmm ill meet you at the library in 5'' i told him
''okay''
THE PHONE WENT DEAD.
it was hard enough trying to sneak out at 12 at night let alone get to the library in time, so i ran because i didnt want to make him think i had gone missing too.
i finally got there only a minute late but he didnt seem to notice i had even arrived. He was sitting on the step with his head in his hands and seemed to be crying. i walked over to sit next to him but he lept up before i could sit down. before i could even say hi he hugged me so hard that i could hardly breathe. He just kept saying thank you, thank you, thank you. eventually he let go. ''so what we gunna do?'' i asked him,
''find her.'' he replied sharply
'' yeah but how? did anyone have a grudge against her? has she upset anyone?''
'' i dunno, anyone could have taken her, even a peodofile or something cause she is stunning''
'' yeahh well the only thing we can do is wait to see if she comes back tomorrow, if not we will call the police''
''okay''
'' so lets just go home and go to sleep'' i yawned
'' please just stay out with me, i need to stay out and clear my head.''
'' why do you need to clear your head? she will be fine''
'' its not about her. i know ruby.''
''know what.'' i asked, my heart racing, he knows about how i feel about him.
'' about you. rosie has told me everything.''
''ahh crap.''
''look ruubess, you had your chance with me but you decieded to go for Alex, so i got over you and got with Izzie.''
''i know, i know, im an idiot. this is the reason i didnt want to tell you. dont worry i wont do anything to interfere with you two, but i will help you find her. i promise''
''okay''
''see ya jake,''
''no dont, please'' he pleaded
''fine ill stay, for you.''
so we just sat there in silence, Jacob just stared onto the field. He didnt even seem to blink. i peered at my watch. it was 1:30 and i was beginning to get tired. I yawned loudly and Jacob seemed to spring into life. He put his coat around me but i shook it off and gave it him back. '' you will freeze without it,''
''nahh ill be fine, you need it'' he said softly
'' no i do...nt..'' i yawned
he put his arm around me and i rested my head on his shoulder. it felt like heaven.
''rubes, rubes wake up'' jacob whispered ''you have to see this''
i awoke to find myself lying on a field with jacobs coat wrapped around me. ''what?'' i replied
''look'' he pointed out towards the woods and there was a beautiful red fox looking after her cubs who were playing happily.
'' woah'' i whispered,
''i knew you would like it'' he was shivering but didnt seem to notice. he just sat there, his chocolate brown eyes seemed to melt with happiness, then he turned and met my gaze. i felt myself blush. he pushed my hair out of my eyes and moved towards me.
