I missed a step, and went tumbling down the stairs.
'Oh, crap.' I muttered, sitting at the foot of the stairs in shock.
'Wow, are you okay?' Said an awkward voice. I looked up, startled. It was Ethan Bryan. He looked tall and slender, as usual, with his graceful posture. He had just started University, for his Science PhD, like me and he was now stood in front of me, blocking the sun, with his inquisitive eyes piercing me. I blushed. He was a foreign student from England and was probably the most clever guy in M University, and no doubt the best looking. Style it out, I thought, trying to think on my feet. Or should I say, butt.
'Me? Oh, yeah, I'm fine- Just... taking in some vitamin D, ya' know? Since it's the rainy season and all.'
He grinned charmingly and held his delicate hand out to me.
'It's Summer, Laura.' he began 'Here, up you get.' he said, laughing.
I took his hand and he surprisingly pulled me up with ease, despite his size, not even straining. I thanked him in embarrassment walked off the campus, not failing to trip up on an uneven stone tile, and checking behind to see if anyone was looking. Surprise, surprise Ethan was. Sighing, I quickened my pace, and got out of sight ASAP.
The sun gently warmed my face and the wind caressed me daintily. It felt as though my day would be great, despite the fact that I made a royal embarrassment of myself in front of M University's 'Prince'. I felt a faint smile appear on my face, as I laughed at my encounter. I wondered why someone like him decided to even take notice of me, while others walked on by. Surely things are normally the other way around? Maybe I had this so called Prince all wrong. Pondering upon this, I turned down an alleyway, which served as a shortcut to my house, when the sight I saw made me stop dead in my tracks.
