It had been two months after that accident. I was terrified while running in the freezing cold rain of Seattle. It's no surprise I caught hyperthermia, but that's not the point. I killed my father. I killed him with the gun I never thought I'd use. It was my boyfriend's gun, but he became so scared of me that he just kinda disappeared. No one seems to trust me anymore, but I guess there's no pity either.

"Kasaia, it's lights out, go back to you quarters, now."

Headmistress. "Sorry Ma'am, I'll be off now." Of course I was lying, I mean, who goes to bed at eight thirty on a weekend?

"Don't forget about the screening tomorrow in the theater room!" she had called after me as I was already making my way to the stairwell.

"I won't," I simply replied, even though I didn't plan on going. What I did plan on doing, though, was packing up all my things and leaving. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I'll be turning seventeen. You don't see seventeen year olds in orphanages. Then again, you don't normally see mansion-like orphanages either.

"Good, now get to your room!" She snapped. God, I hated that woman.

As I turned the corner, I stopped at a room and knocked a series of beats in a somewhat coded rythm. One two.... One two three... One.... One two. Immediately the door opened, and a girl dressed in a short white dress and black heels was revealed. She had flowing blond hair and crystaline green eyes. Long story short? She was stunning. She also happened to be my only friend.

"Kass!" the party-dressed blonde whisper yelled, being extra cautious that the headmistress wasn't, like, around the corner or something. "Ready to go? Oh, wait, nevermind," I could tell she mentally facepalmed, so I giggled lightly, then slapped a hand over my mouth as I never giggled, causing my friend to laugh, "You're not even dressed yet. C'mon, I have the perfect dress for you!"

"But Cely!" I whined as she dragged me into her room. Celeste was making her way towards her closet after shoving me down onto her futon.

"Stop it, Kassie, you know as well as I do that you don't have anything nice enough to wear to a party as fun as this."

Fun. I didn't process what she meant until I realized I had said 'fun' out loud. Cely was giving me strange looks as if I should've heard it before.

"Yeah, fun. You know what I mean." Cely wiggled her eyebrows, and we both were tempted to burst into laughter, then remembered we had neighboring rooms with people who are most likely, not, sleeping. Although Andrew probably is.

"Oh, that fun." I drew that out like a line, making a 'sexy' face. Celeste snorted and I had to bring a pillow to my face to muffle the laughter that came from my mouth.

"Shut up," she giggled and threw a pillow at my head, making me lose my balance and fall backwards onto her bed, "we have a dress to get you in."

Now, let me just say, when Celeste came back out of her wardrobe, I wouldn't have known I've gasped If Cely hadn't smiled in success. The dress was perfect. It was pure white with black lace at the top, decorated with small rose colored material dotted around. There was a white peak behind the lace to cover my bust, but It also complemented the black. The back was open down to mid-spine, covered with strings of the white material that felt like gossamer. The dress itself went down to about three inches above my knee, but the back of the dress went down to mid-calf. Lastly, there was a red bow that tied in the back , letting its strings go to my knee. Like I said, "It's Perfect.."

"I told you you would like it! I also got some cute bobby pins with red gems on the tips," She smiled then added, "Decoration."

"Don't tell me-"

"There's make up!" she squealed.

Oh lord... "Don't make me look like a clown this time, please Cely! I don't like drastic wings that go through my eyebrows!" I complained, earning me another pillow to the face.

"Your face broke my eyeliner, so stop complaining. That was my favorite pencil, too." I scoffed.

The summary of seven minutes later: Cely had managed to strip me down to my bra and panties, put the dress over my head and over my bust, which was the hard part, and tied the straps so tight that I swear my insides are going to burst.

"A little too tight," I told her, hoping she would loosen it. No such luck.

"It makes you look skinnier than you already are! What are you, ninety-eight? Now you look eighty-five." She stated in a somewhat bragging manner as if saying 'I make you look good.'

"Fine, fine, we have two more hours, hurry up," I complained.

I guess I should explain why we're going to a party anyways. Being my last day, and the fact that only Celeste knows, she made her boyfriend, Jacob, throw a party. Now, Jacob is a pretty popular guy, and he also knows how to throw a party that just barely meets lethal standards. Somehow Cely had managed to convince me to come, even though I seriously don't want to, being as police already keep their eyes on me. And so, as you can tell, that party is tonight and we only have one hundred twenty minutes left to prepare and get there on time.

By now, my wavy auburn hair has been put up into a messy, yet elegant, bun with a strand escaping and dangling in my face. The pins mentioned earlier were strategically placed in the bun so you could only see the red jewels. She had also been able to persuade me into putting on ruby earrings and a black ribbon choker. I looked beautiful, meaning I looked like I belong.

"Thanks, Cely.." was all I could say as my friend held a triumphant grin, putting her arms on my shoulder.

"Now how am I going to get you into these black heels..." She contemplated aloud, causing my eyes to go wide.

"Can I please wear flats?" I asked hopefully with my big, innocent like eyes. She didn't fall.

"Nope," Cely laughed, popping the 'P.'

I won't say I didn't fight, but she still was able to get the heels on me. Instead of four eleven, now I was about five foot. Still tiny, so I guess I didn't mind.

Now the makeup came into play. Celeste is a clumsy miracle worker. I got poked in the eye several times and foundation in my mouth twice, but eventually she gave me majestic wings, sparkling eyes, bright red lips and fleek eyebrows. My eyelashes were fake, but they looked like they fit me perfectly.

"This isn't aloud," Cely fake whined, "now you're prettier than me!"

I snorted and played along, "Suck it up, buttercup, and open the window so we can ditch this place."

She saluted, causing me to stifle a loud laugh, before she finally opened the window and we hopped out. She skipped to her custom lamborghini convert, galaxy printed with white seats, and hopped over the door and into the driver's seat. I actually opened my door and sat down, buckling up. She didn't buckle until I coughed on purpose, nudging her with a foolish 'told ya so' grin, even though I didn't 'tell her so.'

"Fun sponge," She playfully accused.

"Hypocrite," I shot back.

"Idiot,"

I laughed, "Speak for yourself Miss.Straight-C's"

"Shut up," She whined before starting up the car and driving to Jacob's.
