Chapter 24

Dan

Phil, Lottie and I journeyed back to Lottie's house, where we met her dad asleep in the armchair that faced their wall mounted high definition tv, which was displaying some penguins waddling around.

"Ugh, animal planet. No wonder he fell asleep... Dad? Wake up!" Lottie said laughing.

"Huh? Oh hi Lott... You brought friends?" He waved at us.

I studied his face as he spoke to his daughter.

He had eye wrinkles, but not that many, big hazel eyes just like Lottie and blonde hair in a quiff style. He was wearing a blue jumper and black pyjama bottoms. Overall, I'd say he was about thirty something.

"Hi, I'm Lottie's father, Edward! And you are?..." He looked at Phil.

"Phil, a friend of Lottie's"

"And you?" He looked at me.

"Dan, I'm Lottie's boyfriend" I said, making Phil cough suspiciously.

"Ohh! So you and Lottie are gonna make babies? Huh!?" He laughed.

"No! I told you don't want kids!" Lottie play pushed her father.

"Oh, come on! How are you gonna carry on the Skison name? Or are you changing it to his last name? Or are-"

"Dad! I only woke you up to tell you about my friends! Not discuss wedding plans!" Lottie giggled.

"Sorry Lotlot! You and your friends go upstairs, I'll be up with some little party kinda food in a minute" He said as he flicked through channels.

We double stepped up to the floor above, to be greeted to a series of rooms.

"This ones mine" She pointed.

She opened the door for us, to reveal a room with a double bed with black sheets, a desk with a macbook and a couple of school books on it, a speaker dock, and a huuuge manga collection in the corner.

"Sit down, I'll go get drinks!" She said before zipping off.

"Wow, this house is so clean! Unlike mine." I said to Phil.

"I know right? This place is top notch. And to think that people spread that nasty rumor that she lives in the woods nearby" Phil replied as he sat down next to me on the bed.

"Its not a rumor. Its the truth. Please don't laugh at her. When she told me about it, she was very upset"

We sat there in silence, waiting for Lottie to return when Phil sighed and said "Dan, thanks for tryna look out for me today, I well and truly don't know what I would have done without you."

He looked straight at me, his eyes looking into mine.

I kissed him quickly and Phil kissed me back, then my neck and back to my lips.

When I pulled back,Phil and I saw Lottie standing in the door way, with three bottles of Fanta in her hand, smiling.

"I knew it" She whispered.

"Knew what? We weren't--" I began.

"Dan. I know, and I have for quite some time" She handed me and a red faced Phil a Fanta bottle each.

"H-how long is 'some time'?" Phil asked.

"Since the woods. When I finished peeing, I saw you guys, but I thought that you were whispering or something like that. But then I saw Dan's hickey, and I saw Phils when we were in Home Economics on Friday, and that confirmed it. And also the fact how you just can't hide anything from me" She chuckled.

"So... You're not upset?" I asked, puzzled.

"No! Why would I be? I just got unlucky. But you didn't, and I'm happy that you didn't. And besides, Phan sounds a lot better than Dottie" She patted me on the back.

"A-and you won't tell anyone?" Phil asked.

"If you don't want me to, then I won't"She answered.

"Oh! Great. Thanks Lottie" Phil sighed happily.

"So, are you bisexual or what?" Lottie asked Phil.

"No, I'm homosexual" He shook his head.

"What about all those girls? How did you deal with a year no guys?" She said after sipping her drink.

"I don't know, but from Monday, I'm ending the fake straight Phil. I'm gonna be gay af and I'm gonna be proud!" He laughed.

We spent the rest of the night explaining the Crimson situation to Lottie, and then on a lighter note, laughing at anything and everything under the sun, from Lottie's impressions to Phil's dancing.

At around ten forty five Lottie's father drove Phil and I home, also stopping at Phil's to pick up Adrian.

"I like Phil's mummy! We baked cookies and we played Pokemon!" He said proudly once we were in Edwards car.

"Thank you Mr Skison" I said once we had reached our destination.

"You're welcome. Anything for my son-in-law to be" He smiled.

"Dan, Adrian! How was your day?" My mother asked once we got inside.

"Great! I made cookies with Phil's mum!" Adrian jumped before yawning.

"Well, it looks like you've had a long day! Go and brush your teeth and get ready for bed, honey" my mother smiled at her youngest.

Adrian jogged up the stair case and my mother and I went to the kitchen, where I saw Steven sitting there.

"Hey, Dan!" He smiled.

"Daniel" I replied, getting a drink of water.

"Dan, don't be so rude, Stevens got a surprise" my mother said.

"Oh?? What could it be?" I said sarcastically. I was starting to wish I stayed at Lotties house.

"Its upstairs" He said getting up.

My mother and Steven walked up the stairs, with me behind.

They took me to... My room.

It now had a door on it.

"Surprise!!!" Steven sang as he opened the door.

My room had been totally renovated. A new double bed was in place, with surprisingly nice black, white and grey checkered sheets and pillow.

There was also a new pokèball plush toy on my bed.

A new burghandy desk with my muse albums stacked, in order!

"Thanks, mum" I said, feeling quite happy.

"Don't thank me, it was Stevens idea" She said.

"Thank you... Steven." I mumbled.

"No problem, I didn't know you like Muse, you should have said something!" He laughed.

"You put them in order? How did you know!?" I said surprised.

"I used to go to their concerts. Black Holes and Revelations is my favorite" He nodded.

"Origin Of Symmetry!" I said back.

"I can see you two are finally getting along!" She said excitedly, causing me to blush.

"Muuuummy! I want to go to Phil's house!" Adrian called from his room.

"Well, we'll leave you to enjoy your room" My mother said as she and Steven left for Adrian.
