Drunk and completely incapable of being a civilized human being, I tried to stay upright at the bar. So many people had bought me drinks and I bought a round for everyone as well. I bet my tab was as long as the table for the party of ten in the corner. I was past the point of being classy and enjoying a glass of wine. Jack and Cokes, Red Bull and Vodkas, Tequila Sunrises, you name it, I'd drank it. My angering memories of Ben telling me he wouldn't be showing up tonight were slowly fading as I continued to consume everything. Who needed Ben anyways, I could have an equally good time without him. Cause I'm Danny Worsnop and everyone loves me. I rolled a dollar bill and snorted a line of cocaine right off the bar. The memories had officially faded.
A group of drunk sluts had pulled me onto the dance floor and we did our best to stay vertical while more idiots sang karaoke. I wonder how many people knew how bad they actually sounded. As a talented singer myself, I was disgusted by what I was hearing. I marched straight onto the small stage, ripping the mic out from some guy's hand. "Alright everyone," I slurred, "it's time we explain to this man how he should never sing karaoke again, cause well mate, you're terrible." Did I just say that? Whoops. Apparently my mouth wasn't finished either, "so, if you think this man should get off the stage, tell him." I sighed, causally leaning on the railing that surrounded the stage. "No one has anything to say? Not a problem, I can help you out. Dude, I don't even know you, but you're shit - so get out."
I wasn't sure what happened after, cause I ended up slowly waking up in an alley. Someone was shaking me, "Danny? Can you hear me?" a concerned voice said. It was Cam. My eyes fluttered open and I rolled onto my side. "Ben told me you were upset, so I came down to find you and hang out. When I got to the bar, the bartender said you'd left with some guy and you were going to fight him. By the looks of things, you didn't win." Cam rubbed my shoulder and began to help me up but quickly sat me back down, realizing I was so drunk that standing wasn't going to happen.
I touched my face. I must've been hit pretty hard, cause I could feel my swollen lip and the dried blood in my hair. "I called James and he's going to come pick us up," Cam said. "You're beat up and so drunk. Goddamn, Danny."
I couldn't even think of an intelligent thing to say. "Maybe I overdid it this time," I giggled.
"Overdid it?! Are you kidding me? The bartender said you'd had over 10 drinks and not to mention didn't pay your tab." Cam was furious.
"What the fuck, Danny?" James shouted, getting out of the van, "This is ridiculous."
I sighed, "it was just a few drinks. Nothing too major."
"Mate, you kicked a guy off the stage and fought him in an alley. Think about it," Cam said.
"He can't even comprehend what we're saying right now," James said. "Lets just get him up and into the van."
James and Cam each grabbed me by an arm and began to hoist me off the alley floor and began taking me back to the car. I must've blacked out again, I woke up in the guest room at James's house. James and Cam were attempting to put me in bed.
"Get the bucket," I screeched desperately. James dropped my right side and ran to fetch a garbage can or something for me to puke in. My head was pounding and I guess my vision was blurry cause I couldn't see clearly. What did I get myself into tonight? Oh man. James returned with a pail and I abruptly emptied the contents of my stomach into it.
My nose was running, yet I didn't remember doing any drugs tonight. My stomach churned and I felt lightheaded. In agony, I moaned, "ok, you win. Tonight was too much."
"Thank god, you've realized," Cam spat.
I lowered myself back onto the mattress, falling asleep.
