Prologue
"Alice..." He whispered almost a sigh as the girl moved away from him. "Please Alice, don't go." The swirling world closed in as the door in front of them grew.
"You know I have to, I shouldn't be here at all."
He moved up close to the girl. The proximity nearly killed him, "A goodbye kiss at least," The girl rolled her eyes. Then her mouth met his. This kiss wasn't nearly as heated as the one they had just shared. It was goodbye, for god knows how long. It felt like he was put together again.
Then she was gone.
