Familiar

It's been a month now
A month since Daimanashi vanished from my mind
Why?
I'll probably never know
I can't say I miss him though
He was always trying to make me think things that aren't true!
So anyway my life's been better without him
It's still odd that he's just gone without a trace though...

School was starting

None of the teachers knew about the hallucinations
None of the students knew either
Though if they did they'd probably still make fun of Fizzy for being out so much
But they really couldn't help the fact that the hallucinations caused physical pain!
But at least Daimanashi was out of their head now
Which means I went to the mental hospital for nothing, but whatever

Fizzy walked to Mrs P's class
It wasn't that far from the waiting area so it was no sweat
But when they got there-
A new student was sitting in their seat
And though Fizzy may seem like the type of person to be loud and energetic...
School was a whole different story

They quietly walked up to the desk and tried to make themself smaller before finally speaking to the stranger
"Uhm- Hi, that's uhh... That's my seat"

The stranger looked up at them with dark grey eyes
"Oh- I'm sorry! Do you know any seats that aren't taken?"

Fizzy hesitated
They did in fact know any seats that were open
Because there was only one
"Yeah, it's the one next to mine..."

The stranger grabbed their bag and moved to the seat next to them
"Well... Since we'll be sitting next to each other, my name is Cruz! What's yours?"

Fizzy hesitated as they sat down
Potential new friend, so they should tell them their nickname, but at the same time they might end up like the popular kids
"Felicity"
They decided to go with their real name

"That's a pretty name!"

"Thanks..."
Fizzy hesitated YET AGAIN
That name was so familiar to them
But it was probably just coincidence
"Your name is pretty cool too, it reminds me of an old friend of mine"

Cruz smiled as Fizzy sat down next to them

"... Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are your pronouns? You're really androgynous and I can't tell... Sorry"

Cruz laughed a little
"I'm sorry too, I don't know what you mean by that! I know what androgynous means but I've never heard anyone ask for pronouns before!"

"Oh- well, there are they/them pronouns for people to, not just she/her and he/him, they/them is used for people who don't fall into boy or girl"

"Hmm, I never really thought about that before... I guess I'd be he/him/they/them. Is that allowed?"

This time Fizzy laughed
"Ofcourse it's 'allowed'! But you would say it he/they"

"Oh. Then I'm he/they!"
Cruz smiled again
He'd never been given the chance to explore something like this

The second bell rang
Class started

Lunch time already
Fizzy was keeping an eye out for their other friends
But spotted Cruz instead
He didn't have anyone to sit with
Fizzy waved him over
He came ofcourse
When Fizzy's friends arrived they were excited to meet the new friend
But when they heard his name-
The ones that knew about Fizzy's past looked a little worried of what Fizzy might be doing

Other than that their day continued as normal, though Cruz was in most of their classes
