The Promise

Chapter 1~Duke Reinhart

"You stupid slave! thanks to you the plates have been shattered"

"I.. i am sorry i will clean it up"

I kneeled down and began to pick up the shattered pieces of the plates, all of a sudden i heard a voice and footsteps coming down the hallway.

"What the hell happened in here?"

The grey haired woman wearing a formal noble dress, her hair tied in a bun and she wore glasses entered the room.

"This slave went and broke the plates which were suppose to use for the madam's tea party"

"I see you leave those and come with me!"

I gulped then got up followed the grey haired woman, i continued to follow her until we reached the madam's room.

"Excuse me my lady it is Sarah may i enter"

"You may enter"

The head maid called Sarah opened the door and we entered, more like i was pushed inside that i fell to my knees.

"So Sarah what is the problem that you brought this filthy slave here"

A middle aged woman in her thirties, wearing a flashy red dress wearing light tone make up, she was covered in jewellery aswell. 

"I see so that is the situation"

She got up then kneeled down in front of me, she then cupped her chin so our eyes met her cold angry eyes made my body tremble.

"What should we do madam?"

"Simple really take him outside tie him up and whip him until he has reflected on his actions"

Hearing the word of being whipped i begged her to forgive me, but she lifted her hand and slapped me across the face.

"As you wish madam"

The viscount's knights were summoned, and i was dragged away once outside my hands were tied together which the rope was hoisted over the branch as my hands were raised up.

Sarah walked over and handed the whip to the knight, he took it then went behind me as he ripped the back of my shirt.

"P.. please forgive me.. it was a accident.."

I begged but everyone ignored my pleas, a painful sensation burn hit on my back that i screamed out in pain.

"P.. please.. someone.. help me.."

Continuing to feel the whip hit my back, i continued to scream until the pain became so bearable that i passed out.

"Oi slave wake up!"

A a cold of water was splashed onto my face, i woke up then sat up looking around i noticed i was in the basement.

"Tch about time you woke up!"

I looked up to see a young male wearing a luxurious outfit, he kneeled down and grabbed me by the hair.

His hair was crimson red he amber gold eyes, he smirked then cupped my chin as our eyes met as he smirked.

"So your the slave that father bought eh? well aren't you going to answer me!"

He slammed my head on the floor, and then he began to beat me also kicking me until i finally answered.

"P.. please forgive this slave and yes the master is the one who bought me"

"See it wasn't that hard to answer anyways i have a message from mother"

I was told to head to the market to gather some ingredients, for tonight's dinner party he threw the paper on the floor next to me.

"Don't mess this up other wise i will punish you much harder"

He chuckled then walked out, my body felt stiff and hot the pain was painful but i managed to gather my strength.

A old man then entered the basement, his name was Henry he was the head butler he then threw some clothes down in front of me.

"Master said change into these when you go into town so no one knows your a slave"

He turned and left, then closed the basement door as i fumbled in the dark changing into those clothes.

If i could run away i could try, but this slave mark i have on my neck would activate and the master would be notified.

Once leaving the basement, then i used the back gate and followed the road which led to town my eyes widened seeing so much people.

"E.. excuse me do you know where the market is?"

I asked a passer by and he pointed me in the direction, i thanked him and began to walk but along away not noticing where i was going i bumped into someone then fell to the ground.

"I.. i am sorry.. i.. i didn't see where i was going.."

"Are you hurt anywhere?"

A cloaked man held out his hand towards me, i hesitated then grabbed it as he pulled me up bowing and thanking him i hurried to the market.

"Your grace are you okay?"

"Philip i finally found him"

The other hooded man looked at him in surprise, then looked towards the direction where he ran off.

"So it was really him"

"Yes it was him let lance and xavier know as soon we return"

"As your orders are my lord"

Later that evening a guest arrived, he was tall man with jet black hair and sapphire blue eyes next to him was two males one with the same hair colour and eyes.

The other one had black hair with blonde streaks in them, his eyes were the same colour as the other two.

"Grand duke and young masters welcome to our humble home"

"Thank you for inviting us viscount william"

As the grand duke bowed the two males next to him bowed aswell, viscount's wife and his son guided them to the dining hall.

"I see you have a wonderful home also a wonderful wife and son"

"Yes of course thank you"

The grand duke looked around and spotted me, i looked over our eyes met and i quickly bowed in his presence.

"Hey we need help in the kitchen hurry up!"

"Y.. yes i am coming"

"Is he a new servant?"

Viscount nodded and made a lying story, that he found me on the streets and took me in ever since then i was in his debt.

"I see what about his parent's?"

"Probably abandoned him who knows"

"Hm i see okay then"

After a few minutes i returned from the kitchen, carrying the plate that had the grand duke's meal on it.

But then all of a sudden i felt something trip me over, the plate of food fell to the floor creating a big mess.

"You idiot! look what have you done! clean it up straight away"

"Y.. yes my lord.."

"Also meet me at my office he whispered coldly to me"

I knew what was coming and i nodded, then began to clean up the floor once cleaned up i got up and bowed then left the room.

After a couple of hours once the grand duke and his son's left, i was summoned into the viscount's office.

"Y.. you called me master.."

"Get on your knees right now!"

I noticed a whip and i went down onto my knees, as soon i felt the whip hit me over my body i screamed out in pain then passed out after.
