Far from the snow-covered mountains, the golden kingdom of Aaranyapura awakened to another peaceful morning.

The palace courtyards echoed with the melodies of temple bells. Servants hurried through marble corridors carrying trays of fresh flowers, while royal guards changed shifts beneath towering sandstone gates.

To anyone looking from outside, the kingdom appeared as prosperous and secure as ever.

But beneath its glittering beauty...

A shadow had already entered the palace.

Inside the Royal Council Chamber, Emperor Veerendra sat upon the carved sandalwood throne. Around him gathered the kingdom's most trusted advisors.

General Rudra, commander of the royal army.

Chief Priest Somdev.

Treasurer Harivardhan.

And the emperor's oldest advisor...

Minister Vishrant.

For over thirty years, Vishrant had faithfully served the royal family.

He had witnessed Aisha's birth.

He had advised three generations of rulers.

His wisdom was respected throughout Aaranyapura.

No one questioned his loyalty.

Not even the emperor.

"The northern trade routes remain quiet," General Rudra reported.

"Our scouts have found no sign of invading armies."

"Good," Emperor Veerendra replied.

"But the disappearance of children near the Sacred Forest concerns me far more than foreign kingdoms."

Priest Somdev bowed his head.

"The temples report strange omens."

"Oil lamps extinguish without wind."

"Holy rivers grow restless during the full moon."

"The people are frightened."

Before anyone could respond, Minister Vishrant spoke calmly.

"Fear spreads faster than truth, Your Majesty."

"We should avoid alarming the kingdom without evidence."

The emperor nodded thoughtfully.

"Perhaps you are right."

No one noticed the brief smile that crossed the minister's face.

Later that afternoon, Queen Meher stood in the palace gardens, watching peacocks wander among blooming roses.

She looked toward the northern mountains, hidden beyond the distant horizon.

"I hope she's safe," she whispered.

Beside her stood her personal attendant, Lakshmi.

"The princess has always possessed a brave heart."

"Sometimes too brave."

The queen smiled faintly.

"She inherited that from her father."

Yet despite her smile...

An uneasy feeling refused to leave her heart.

That same evening, Minister Vishrant walked alone through the palace library.
