Chapter 1

THIRD PERSON POV:

The first day of the new semester had finally arrived.

Haneul University was full of students rushing to their classrooms, catching up with friends, and taking pictures around the campus.

Standing in front of the Student Council Office was Jennie Kim, the Student Council President. Beside her was her Vice President, Jisoo, checking the schedule for the orientation.

"Everything's ready?" Jennie asked.

Jisoo nodded.

"Yes, President. We just have one more thing."

"What is it?"

"We're welcoming a new transfer student today."

Jennie smiled.

"I hope she enjoys studying here."

Outside the university gate...

A black SUV slowly stopped.

Lisa Manoban stepped out, carrying her backpack while looking around the unfamiliar campus.

Ms. Manoban hugged her daughter.

"Don't be nervous."

"You'll do great," Mr. Manoban added.

Lisa smiled.

"I'll be fine, Mom. Dad. Thank you."

She waved goodbye before walking toward the main building.

Inside the classroom...

The professor smiled at the students.

"Class, today we have a new transfer student."

Lisa walked to the front.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm Lisa Manoban. I transferred here this semester. Nice to meet you all."

The room became quiet.

Kai leaned closer to Taehyung.

"I think she's going to be popular."

Taehyung nodded.

"No doubt."

Nancy smiled.

"She seems really nice."

-AFTER CLASS-

Lisa was looking for the library when she accidentally bumped into someone.

"Oh! I'm sorry."

She looked up.

Standing in front of her was Jennie.

"It's alright," Jennie said with a gentle smile.

"You must be the new transfer student."

Lisa nodded.

"Yes."

"I'm Jennie, the Student Council President."

"It's nice to meet you."

For a brief moment...

Neither of them spoke.

Then Lisa smiled.

"It was nice meeting you too."

Rosé watched the whole interaction from a distance.

A mischievous smile slowly appeared on her face.

"Hmm... interesting."

Jisoo: President... okay ka lang?

Jennie: Bakit naman?

Jisoo: Kanina ka pa tahimik after meeting Lisa.

Jennie: I'm just thinking about the orientation.

Jisoo: Sure... orientation ba talaga?

Jisoo: Admit mo na, she's pretty.

Rosé invited Lisa to eat with their group.

"This is Kai, Taehyung, Somi, Nancy, and Eunwoo."

"It's nice to meet all of you," Lisa said.

"The pleasure is ours," Eunwoo replied with a smile.

They spent the entire lunch laughing and getting to know each other.

From another table...

Jennie glanced at them without realizing she had been smiling.

Jisoo noticed.

"You've been looking over there for five minutes."

Jennie quickly looked away.

"I wasn't."

"Sure, President."

"How did you know?"

"A mother's intuition."

Jennie laughed softly.

"Maybe... I did."

Meanwhile...

At the Manoban residence...

Ms. Manoban was waiting for Lisa in the living room.

"How was your first day?"

"It was amazing."

"Did you make friends?"

Lisa smiled.

"I think I did."

"And... I met someone kind."

As both girls looked out their bedroom windows that night...

Neither of them realized...
