As I stepped onto the school grounds, I took in the scene. Girls were everywhere, laughing and talking with their friends. I hoped I'd be like that soon. I sighed. I've been dreading coming here since the day my father suggested it.
"It'll be fun, Lydia. You can be normal, just like you've all ways wanted to be." I knew he was lying. Nothing could change the fact that I was a mermaid. I mean, I thought he could at least think of something a little less drastic then sending me to a HUMAN school. But then again, maybe not.
"Hello, you must be Lydia Darcy. I'm Miss Jenkins, your forms head teacher. Grade 7, right? How do you find the school so far? Pleasant? "
"Uh, it's alright, I guess."
"Well, come on, I'll show you to your dormitory."
