AN: **This chapter picks up where 4x11 "Till Death do us Part" ends. There will be a full wedding chapter soon, but this one is more of a memory flashback one to start off this fanfiction. I WILL be taking requests for chapters! Let me know your thoughts!**
Kevin stood at the end of the aisle, trying not to fidget with his hands. He'd faced armed suspects with less anxiety than he felt right now.
He'd pictured this moment for months now. He'd imagined the feeling of seeing Jenny in a wedding dress, her smile, everything. All of those scenarios failed to mention that he was a nervous wreck. Where should he rest his arms? Is his tie straight?
Beside him were four people. Well... three of his closest friends and Jenny's half brother Nelson, who he reluctantly asked to be his best man. Nelson was a nerdy kid. So was Kevin at that age, but Nelson was exceptionably good at mathematics... which he never failed to mention whenever he would greet someone. Next to Nelson were Javier Esposito, Richard Castle, and his cousin. Those three men he adored, all for different reasons.
The fidgeting and anxiety only got worse when the bridesmaids started coming in. There were four bridesmaids, all dressed in a light sage green.
Ryan hadn't even noticed how many people were standing. His eyes were now on Jenny. She was so beautiful. That's all he could think. She would have looked perfect in any dress she picked out, but this one matched her completely. The prettiest part about her was her smile. It was the only thing about her that took no preparation, which made it the purest part of all.
Everything suddenly felt calm. In his eyes, she was an angel. Everybody had turned to watch her walk down the aisle, except from the occasional glances at Kevin to see if he was crying, which he now was.
This moment felt like it was moving in slow motion.
Kevin had seen Jenny dressed up before. He'd seen her in dresses, heels, jeans, pajamas, every version of her he could think of. Somehow, none of them had prepared him for this.
When she finally reached the altar, her father kissed her cheek. Kevin took the chance to give him a hug as well. Just a quick 'thank you' that meant something.
Kevin suddenly felt confident.
"Hey, you." She whispered to him as they now stood facing each other.
His tears overwhelmed him. "Hey."
The music faded out behind them. This was it. He reached out for her hands, but didn't take his eyes off hers.
He's seen this exact smile many times before. The most memorable time was when they first met.

Kevin wasn't the kind of guy to stay out late. Especially after a case. The only reason he had went to K.J McDougal's' bar in the first place was because it was Saint Patrick's day.
Just like every other bar in New York, tonight the bar was packed. Mostly full of drunks and lunatics who were ripping their shirts to expose each others beer bellies... not that he cared anyway, he was here to get drunk as well.
Kevin pushed his way through the crowd, keeping one hand over the inside pocket of his jacket. Not because he was worried about someone stealing from him, but because he was still getting used to carrying his badge everywhere. Even off duty, he couldn't seem to turn that part of his brain off.
He finally made it to the bar and managed to find an empty spot between two people who were already several drinks ahead of him.
"Beer."
The bartender looked at him.
"That's it?"
Kevin glanced around at the chaos surrounding him. "That's all I need."
