Prologue - Before Magic Had a Name
Long before the kingdoms were divided, before the great academies were built, before the first mage ever learned to summon fire from their hands-
there was only one spell.
No one knew who created it.
No one knew what it was called.
And no one knew why it existed.
The ancient records described it only as the First Spell.
It was said that when the world was young, magic did not belong to fire, water, wind, earth, light, or darkness. It belonged to everything.
One person could wield it all.
But power without understanding was dangerous.
And so, the First Spell was broken.
Its fragments became the foundations of modern magic.
Fire became Elemental Arts.
Healing became Nature Arts.
Illusions and curses became Arcane Arts.
Contracts with spirits became Summoning Arts.
And the power that remained within the body became Combat Arts.
The world flourished.
Civilizations were built.
Kingdoms rose.
And eventually, people forgot where their magic had come from.
Almost everyone.
