Yin and War were two BL actors best known for playing a couple on screen, or at least that was how most people saw them.

To the public, they were Phi and Nong, two close friends and longtime acting partners whose chemistry had become something people loved to talk about. Whenever questions about their relationship came up, they always gave the same answer. They were close, they trusted each other, and they were comfortable working together. Nothing more.

Behind the cameras, however, there was no need for them to pretend. The people closest to them knew they were together, and Yin and War had never felt the need to hide it from those they trusted.

They simply understood where the line had to be drawn. Their relationship belonged to them, while their careers belonged to the public, and they had always been careful not to let one interfere with the other. The people around them understood and respected that choice.

There was a four-year age gap between them, with War being the older one. It had never been something Yin paid much attention to. To him, War was simply his boyfriend, and those four years had never felt like they made a difference between them. Yin had always assumed War felt the same.

Lately, though, he had started noticing subtle changes in the way War acted around him. Nothing was obvious enough to raise concern, and at first, Yin had brushed each moment aside without giving it much thought. But after a while, he began to notice a pattern.

Once, when Yin handed War a drink, War took another one for himself instead of accepting it from him. Another time, when a staff member handed them an umbrella, War quickly took it and held it over both of them, leaving Yin to duck slightly beneath it. Neither moment was unusual enough for Yin to question, but somehow, both stayed in the back of his mind.

Then, during another day on set, it happened again.

They were waiting for the staff to prepare the next scene when Yin noticed a tiny speck of dust near War's nose. Without thinking, he reached out to brush it away, but War suddenly leaned back and wiped his own face instead.

"Baby, you okay?"

War looked at him, his brows knitting together at the concern in Yin's voice.

"I'm fine. Why?"

"You moved away when I tried to touch your face."

For a brief second, War went still. His eyes dropped to Yin's hand, then quickly shifted away. He hadn't realized he had moved until Yin pointed it out.

"Oh." War cleared his throat softly. "I didn't know you were trying to clean it."

Yin watched him carefully. There was something different in War's expression. Still, Yin didn't want to make it into something it wasn't.

"It's okay." He smiled gently. "There's still some dust left. Come here, let me clean it."

Yin reached toward him again, but War instinctively leaned back, just enough to avoid his hand. He caught himself a moment later and glanced toward the other side of the set, as though something there had suddenly caught his attention.

"Just tell me where it is, Honey."

Yin's hand stopped in midair. He stared at War for a moment before slowly lowering it. The smile on his face faded into something more uncertain.

"You don't want me to help?"

War swallowed. He knew how that sounded, especially coming from him. He didn't want Yin to misunderstand, but he also didn't want to explain something he wasn't even sure how to put into words.
