As I deleted that account back then, the story also gone. But I had the drafts in my laptop. So, now I have change it to TejRan. You may also find PraShiv version. So, don't get confused. This is going to be another short story. I hope you guys enjoy this story as well. Please vote and comment🙂.

Happy reading😊📖.

The Manhattan skyline glittered beneath the fading evening light, casting a warm, amber glow across the sprawling glass facade of the apartment.

Inside, high above the frantic hum of the city, Tejasswi Wayangankar stood by the floor-to-ceiling window.

Her arms were folded loosely across her chest, her dark eyes fixed on the maze of avenues stretching out toward the horizon. For years, this concrete expanse had been her sanctuary and her battleground.

She had arrived in America with nothing more than a suitcase packed with oversized dreams, a fierce determination, and a singular, silent promise to herself: she would carve out a life entirely on her own terms.

And she had done it. She had secured a thriving career, an enviable home overlooking the Hudson, and an undeniably comfortable existence-everything she had once envisioned during late-night study sessions years ago.

Yet, as the sun dipped behind the city's silhouette, a quiet emptiness lingered. It was the space left by the one piece of her past she had never managed to leave behind.

Karan.

Just the unspoken cadence of his name was enough to trigger a sharp, familiar ache deep within her chest.

Shaking her head, Tejasswi swiftly pushed the memory into the shadows of her mind, a discipline she had spent years perfecting. She had learned to live without him, or at least she had succeeded in convincing herself that she had.

Turning away from the window, her gaze fell upon her phone lying on the polished marble of the coffee table. She picked it up, her thumb instinctively navigating the familiar contact list until it halted at a name accompanied by a single red heart: Prarthana❤️.

A soft, spontaneous smile broke across her lips, softening the solemnity in her posture. Without giving herself time to second-guess the impulse, she tapped the screen and pressed the phone against her ear.

The line rang several times before a groggy, slightly disoriented voice picked up. "Hello?"

"Hey," Tejasswi said, the warmth immediately returning to her face at the sound of her best friend's voice.
"Tejasswi!" Prarthana's tone instantly sharpened from sleepy confusion to mild shock. "Is everything okay?"
