Push Point, The Pitt
Christina Spaeny often forgets herself.
She forgets that she's breathing, living, existing in a tangible world. She forgets the stack of unpaid bills waiting at home and the apartment that needs tidying. She forgets that she's a rising star—a twenty-three-year old intern physician whose name never seems to leave the conversation. That she called off her engagement with a man who's been cheating on her for three years, and that her sister would stop at nothing to claim whatever she desires. And that she's tangled in a relationship that makes no sense with her second-year resident physician.
She can't pinpoint when the relationship actually began. All she can recall is stepping into PTMC for the first time and feeling the weight of that doctor's intense stare settle on her. Like she was prey—or perhaps something to mold, to shape from a cocoon into something exquisite, laced with just a trace of guilt and... something far more complicated. And for reasons she couldn't explain, Christina was drawn to her the way a moth surrenders to a flame. She couldn't bear to be out of her sight, and the doctor seemed to feel the same. Christina forgets the times she'd only accept a trauma case if it meant being near her. She forgets the way her gaze would search for her in every room she entered. She forgets the nausea that crept in whenever those eyes landed on another young prodigy.
Yet, remarkably, there are a few things Christina chooses to hold onto.
Christina remembers the exact words she uses when she snatches a patient back from the brink of death. She remembers the sound of her voice when she talked someone down from the edge of giving up. Christina remembers the highs and the low-lows, and the highs were very good. She remembers her hands pressed against her neck, lips tracing and biting the constellations scattered across her skin. She remembers the doctor wiping Christina's blood across her own jaw, barely stopping herself from tasting what remained after a patient's fist collided with her nose. She remembers the day she walked out of her life, consumed by her own remorse—leaving behind everything they had built.
Christina remembers September 15th, 2025; the day she met Dr. Cassie McKay.

🐇 Well. Happy age-gap august to those who celebrate! I'm so in love with Cassie I had to make her a fanfic. Push Point is about pushing buttons. It's a very toxic relationship-environment thingy that I'll let the book itself do the explaining. Cassie McKay & Christina Spaeny are the embodiment of toxic yuri sorry. A 42-year old mother with repressed feelings vs. a 23-year old young doctor with academic pressure and her shitty fiancé (and sister) weighing heavy on her. When there's a young prodigy contest and Christina thinks she's winning but Victoria Javadi walks in 😂Let's see who wins 😂😂 in bed.
🐇 Christina Spaeny, I love yew. I love you so much that I have to put you in an erotic guilty-pleasure relationship with your R2. I also love how complex she'll be—fighting with some of our most loved doctors here. Dr. Robby, Whitaker... she'll butt heads with Santos sometimes... I promise loves everyone but they get on her nerves! No really she loves everyone. It's just when your fiancé cheats on you with your sister, you don't have time for hot sarcastic doctors and depressed attendings who take burn bridges so they won't be missed lawl
