Chapter 1 - Friday Night Lights

My two best friends and I were heading out for the night in Easton, Pennsylvania for a movie night on a Friday night – because we would usually go out or stay in one of our houses to watch a movie on Film Fridays. We watch any genres, whether it's romance, horror, fantasy, or whatever we found interesting trending on social media just to see it for ourselves.

My name is Riley Luz Navarro, a Filipino girlie girl who is quite shy - unless I know people for a long time, and a high schooler who just entered her senior year in high school on September eighth.

I got my G1 and G2, but my best and gorgeous friend Brandy Smith is driving myself and Veronica Hawthorne in the passenger seat – while I was sitting at the back so that I could doomscroll on Instagram, to the Cineplex in a really cool plaza a little further from our area, but not too far close either.

Brandy is the black girl with soft curly hair, while Veronica is the girl with wavy light brown hair, and I have dark-brown hair styled slightly curly as well.

We planned on seeing IT:PART TWO, since it was released in the middle of October, and we wanted to be the first people to see it - along with the many people in the audience in the movie theatre.

We got to the Cineplex and got out in our matching-colored outfits – pink. It wasn't planned at first, but Brandy suggested us. Now, we just looked like we came out of a teen movie on a Friday night.

"Ready to get scared by Pennywise the dancing clown?" Brandy joked.

"You mean Bill Skarsgard?" Veronica asked. "He's a hot clown."

"You're disgusting," I said, pretending to barf.

"Hey," Veronica snapped playfully. "You're into anime and K-Pop boys."

"At least they don't look like clowns," I teased. "Besides, you like anime and K-Pop boys too!"

"Can you blame me?" Veronica said. "Felix from Stray Kids is real hot with his deep voice and pretty face."

Brandy rolled her eyes. "We're watching a movie, not going to a K-Pop concert!"

"You forgot we just saw BTS last summer," Veronica reminded. "You were literally screaming for J-Hope like he saw you."

"He did!" Brandy yelled. "He literally winked when I made eye contact with him!"

"Keep being delusional," I teased. "I'm delusional for RM, so I can't blame you, who pretty much let me touch his biceps when they got off the stage."

"Come on, guys," Veronica said. "Let's just focus on the movie and not embarrass ourselves in there."

We got into the movie theatre; the aroma of buttered popcorn hit our noses as we got in. We went up to the cashier and told the cashier the movie we were seeing, along with getting our own popcorn combo because we hate sharing when it came to food – unless the portions were really big – but, there was no sharing tonight. Brandy got extra butter, so did Veronica, and I got a bag of Hersey's chocolate to balance out the saltiness of the popcorn.

We went into Theatre 6, where the movie was being played. When we went to our seats, which was right in front of the pathway, we saw three mysterious, inhumanly attractive, pale, and tall looking men walking in with sunglasses on.

Veronica, Brandy, and I were staring at them. We knew it was rude to stare, but their presence seemed quite intimidating when they walked in the theatre.

"Who are they?" I whispered to Brandy.

"Dunno," she replied. "But they're hot."

"And scary looking," Veronica whispered. "I'll take the really tall one with light brown hair."

"I'll take the one in the middle with the leather jacket and Brandy will take the blonde," I whispered.

"At least it's not Pennywise, I'll be fine," Brandy whispered.

While other movie trailers were playing on the big screen, I swore I could've felt chills all over my body, goosebumps covering my arms, legs, and the back of my neck. I slowly turned around nervously and saw that the same men were sitting right above us.

They didn't say anything. They didn't laugh, nor were they looking at the screen. The one in the leather jacket, the one sitting in the middle was staring right at me. I could tell, even through his dark sunglasses. When we met eye contact, his pupils moved to the screen. He shushed me and then pointed at the screen when the movie started.

"Why are they sitting right above us?" Brandy whispered. "There are so many empty seats in the room."

"You felt that too?" I asked.

"Felt what?" Brandy asked.

"Never mind," I replied, trying to shrug the fact that I was being stalked a little.

I tried to shake it off by watching the Loser's Club on what they were doing with their adult lives, but I couldn't ignore the coldness I was feeling, nor did I feel like the three men were only eying on me.

Every time I tried to convince myself that I was imagining things, a colder wave surrounded me.

When the movie, I was so eager to get up and leave.
