the new normal

prologue ( the mega storm)

Just like any day we thought it was going to be a normal day looked outside but i did see a storm coming in but i did not pay much attention to it. during the day it got dark and rained but nothing to horrible. on the way home it started raining harder and the wind picked up making it harder to control the car, we get home and i turn on the tv and i hear this

BREAKING NEWS:
there is severe weather alert issued for the following counties, stay indoor and seek shelter if needed. wind gusts have been reported up to 150mph

and the news continued and talked about hail and other crazy weather happening. suddenly the house starts to shake i tell everyone in the house to get to the basement and we will ride it out down there, good thing i payed extra and had the basement custom built to withstand the craziest of weather, as we are down there i turn the tv on down there so we can have updates and they keep reporting that this weather is not just local it has not spread all over, and people are reporting sudden snow storms, power outages, tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, thunderstorms and more some happening at the same time. than the lights went out and power off and you just herd the howling of the storm and the rain and the storm i go and turn on the lanterns we have and the battery powered radio, and we spend the night downstairs wondering what was going on and what caused this to happen.

the next morning i did not hear anything i head upstairs very slowly and with a lot of care taken because i was not sure what if anything still existed up there, i open the basement door and step into the house and see that is was mostly intact a few things were knocked off shelfs, some stuff knocked over a window was broken and the backyard was a mess with tree limbs and stuff thrown around, but what stood out to me was how quiet it was and for being 8:00 in the morning it was still pitch back out. i turn on the generator we have and i go downstairs and the tv morning news is talking about a what experts have named a massive weather event they have not fully understood yet but for the mean time are referring to it as a mega storm

they talk about and show the damage people are sending them videos and picture of. and talking about how the sky is still dark and has been like that for hours now. i than get a call from my sons school saying that due to recent events and for the safety of the students and staff they have decided to cancel school for the day, with that i flip the switch to turn off the generator and i go back to bed and sleep in some more, i wake up around noon and i go to turn the generator back on and notice its already on and the family is up, i go and check and its still very dark but now the sky had this odd blueish tint to it i go back inside 

i go and watch tv in the bedroom and around 2 pm i hear a massively loud BANG I jump up and notice the tv has static on it and is glitching so i called a friend of mine to see if his electronics were acting up, and he said yes and that their son is playing games on his Xbox when they hear the boys scream, they rushed to him and ask if he was ok he said yes, and say that the noise scared him and that he felt a shock from the electronics. they checked him out and he seem fine but a little shaken from the sound and sad that he thought his game system had broken. 

around 5pm lighting strikes started happening all over the place but the odd thing bout this lighting was, how fast it struck and how many of the strikes there were in one area, and the colors yes you heard that right these strikes of lighting were different colors 

and more and more people were reporting being hit by these bolts, but the strange part was after being hit with the bolt they had not marks on them no medical problems just scared and they felt a little tired like they had run for 8 miles.

after 2 days of this crazy weather it just stopped and cleared up like nothing and the scientist still have no idea what caused this, but the damage that was done can be fixed and people started going back to their normal lives. none of them knowing how life was about to change.

this part of the story just sets up stuff that the main story talks about, the main story will be told from the eyes of the kids or kid that was effected by the storm. 

please bare with me while i try and write this story. i have the characters and the idea now I'm just trying to put it as one so its fun and easy to read thanks
