Chapter 1: Cruelty

The first thing Tanjiro saw when he opened his eyes was stars. Lost of them scattered across the smooth ceiling. He was mesmerized by them for a few seconds before he realized that stars don't belong on ceilings and he was surrounded by a lot of different scents. He sat up and blindly reached for Mr Urokodaki's sword only to panic when his hand met nothing.

"You're awake,"

Tanjiro relaxed. He recognized that voice, and the scent that followed.

He turned to his left side to see Mr Urokodaki, Nezuko and Mr Tomioka sitting beside him. Wait....

"Nezuko?! You're awake!"

Tanjiro embraced his little sister with tears running down his face, his chest feeling a little lighter when said sister hugged him back with a happy hum and giggle. He only pulled back when he heard a scoff from somewhere behind Mr Tomioka and Mr Urokodaki.

Tanjiro hadn't noticed before but almost everyone in the strange room was wearing what appeared to be the official demon slayer corps uniform and were all scattered around the room on fancy looking couches with their weapons also noticably missing.

Shinazugawa, who was sitting with the other hashira aside was the one who scoffed. Actually, all of the hashira except Mitsuri looked his way with suspicion, distrust or indifference. The other members of the corps just had mixed looks of discomfort and fear expect Inosuke, who's face was hidden behind the boarhead mask he wore.

Zenitsu who was sitting next to said boarhead looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but beside him. The only reason he was still sitting there was because his Gramps was on his other side.

"The brat's awake, are we starting this thing or what?!" Shinazugawa yelled at the ceiling when he got tired of drilling imaginary holes in Tanjiro and Nezuko's faces.

Tanjiro jumped when a female voice coming from the ceiling actually responded.

"Message received. The video will start shortly."

What the-what was going on? Where were they? And who were those other people?

Hinokami bless Mr Tomioka cause he must've seen the internal struggle and confusion written all over Tanjiro's face and felt sorry for him cause he leaned down and gave him a short explanation.

"We've all been kidnapped to watch the future or so the female voice had said."

Okay, that wasn't helpful at all.

What Tomioka didn't explain was that when they were all minding their own business before they got teleported in the strange, fancy and comfortable room, with all their weapons missing. Tomioka later realized it was a good idea, cause the moment the other hashira saw Nezuko leaning over a passed out Tanjiro, their first thought was to kill her before she devoured anyone.

Of course Urokodaki and Giyu stood in front the siblings while Urokodaki defended Nezuko and tried to tell that she didn't eat humans, but it still wasn't enough.

In fact, the others only backed off when their master, Ubuyashiki interrupted them and explained that he already knew of the situation and approved it. He also told them that they should be more worried about where they all were and why they were there.

They didn't let it go completely but backed off mostly because of the second part. Then the mechanic female voice from the ceiling revealed itself and informed them that they were going to watch the future so they should all settle down. She also told them to behave because violence permitted in the room and anyone who started fights would be tied up and pelted.
